"Are you done with that?!" A photo heavy, gluttonous, Jan 2012 Trip Report! NEW PG32

Gorgeous DTD pics!!! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Babycakes! I've always been curious to give them a try, but always forget to save pastry room! Actually, I've also never tried the tie-dye cheesecake for that reason too! It looks really good though!

They were very good! No one else in the family would try Babycakes and to be honest, I get why...the snacks/cupcakes/etc. are usually HUGE at Disney and Babycakes were just "regular" sized. And, it's Disney, so most people are all about splurging, so who wants something more healthy for you? For me though, it's great to know that there's an option for something that I can eat WITHOUT getting a headache and itchy ears like when I eat other junk. :)

Loving your tr so far :)

Thanks!!!!! LOVE that pic in your signature! :lovestruc

First I have to say your photos are great! I love the one of the Mickeys in Once Upon A Toy.
I've never had the tie-dye cheesecake, but those pics make it look amazing! Glad you liked it.
We haven't been back to RFC in a long time. I my sister and I got too old for it and the food wasn't worth a return trip for us. I'm sure my fiance and I will be taking DD there in the future though because she loves animals already. Good to know I can redeem my MyPoints for a GC.

Stitch disappeared around 1/26! He was there every time we went to DTD and then poof! one night he was gone. DTD on a Saturday night sounds way too crowded for me!

Love the nighttime shots around Pop! Almost wish we would've stayed there longer than one night so I could have gotten some more pictures and let DD wander around some.

The updates are loading fine for me, so keep 'em coming! :)

Thanks! I'm actually hopefully going to get a new camera with part of the tax return in a few weeks b/c I was frustrated with my camera and some of my shots aren't as good as I know they could be, so it's nice to know other people are still enjoying them!

Savannah was a little bummed that Stitch was gone, she wanted to show him to Leslee, since that's her favorite character, and she LOVES that he spits! It was all fine the following day though when she got to get spit on by the camel at MK! Can't wait to share those pics! :)

I made an effort to get more resort shots this time, I didn't get many of Pop when we were there in 2008 and didn't spend much time exploring the resort then either and did this time! I didn't ever venture back over to the 80s/90s area though this time!

great pictures!

THANK YOU!!! :goodvibes

Joing in!
I  your pictures and that there are a lot. I'm able to relive Disney through them :goodvibes .

Your pictures of POP are great! I stayed there two nights and am so sad I didn't get to explore the resort so it is nice to see it!

I was firmly in the camp that baby cakes isn't that good but may have to try it again. :thumbsup2
Now :surfweb: waiting for more

Welcome, welcome!! :goodvibes

I was worried after reading some reviews about Babycakes, but I do think it's all about perspective. For people who cannot have gluten, milk, or eggs, it seems nearly impossible that there could be a treat like this that tastes good. I did specifically get the blondie cupcake b/c I heard that was the best, and donuts because I had seen reviews that the donuts were better than the cupcakes!

I love it! The pics are great, even the ones I've already seen this morning.

AND, I'm sure you understand the restraint I'm having at this point, right? I have over two THOUSAND photos and I have to choose?!?!?

I am LOVING everything about your tr --- the words, the pictures! It's all wonderful! Can you tell me about your experiences with the Disney busses from Pop? When you say crowded, what exactly do you mean? Was the food court packed?

Thanks Ann! :lovestruc

We only took the buses a few times for fun, and so not during any busy times. It was usually in the middle of the day, so no issues. We did take it back the last night from MK, which can usually be a MESS...but Wishes was at 8pm and even though it was a madhouse when it was over, the park stayed open until 10pm and when we left, the line was only enough for 1 bus! Yay! Rey did stand on that ride, but it wasn't horrible at all.

The food court was VERY busy and chaotic during meals times, but we didn't eat during regular times. I went up at 6am and it was great, and we had a late lunch once, which was fine...it was the "normal" eating times that we noticed were crazybusy, when going to fill our mugs. This may have been in part to the tour groups, but not totally.

The PARKS were very full though, we saw a LOT of Florida plates, so we were thinking the great weather brought out the locals. Most of the time it was busier than when we went in October 2009.

BUT, Pop did an amazing job of handling the people....better than the parks, imo! So don't be worried, even with a full resort, once you were away from the food court, it did not feel busy AT.ALL! We loved Pop!

Yeah, so I hear Jan is a popular south american tour group season, so maybe that is why it was so crowded?

Love that shot of characters in flight balloon- amazing!

Yeah for cheesecake! I am hoping we can book a night at POP before our stay at BLT in November. I want to come in a day earlier and try and do POP- i hear how great the food court is and I have never been there. One of the few resorts I haven't visited yet!

Sorry RFC was more than expected, but looked like a great meal! Love the volcanoes! We just ate at our local RFC last weekend and debated getting one. Can't wait to hear what is on the agenda for tomorrow! Loving all the amazing pictures. :thumbsup2

Thanks Karen. I really want to do POP next year but my family is concerned about the crowds. It would be during August, so maybe it won't be so bad. Looking forward to more updates!!!

Yep, there were some South American tour groups, but there were just a lot of people in general. I was really pleased with how Pop handled the crowds though, I would have never known they were full the night before we checked in (and likely that night as well) if the CM hadn't told me!

AND, we really loved the Pop CM's! We had some issues with Savannah getting CS meals on the trip (more on that later) and the CM's in the food court were SO friendly and helpful! :goodvibes

I prefer 100 pictures in every post so I can SEE it! Yay pics!!!

I'm glad you prefer 100s Liz b/c I have MANY hundreds! Let's put it this way...I've been editing my shots, I have about a HUNDRED just for our first day to post! Looks like there will be about 10 updates per DAY of the trip! A little much? Nah...not for me! :p

Count me in!! Loving your TR!!

Yay! Thank you!!! :goodvibes

And here I thought there was another Karen!

Oh man, it took us 21 to get back, you'll hear about that later, and I had a breakdown. It.just.took.forever. :sad2:

My hat is off to you! :worship:

I'm sure I'll look back and think it wasn't that bad...but that's the trap for me...so seriously, someone smack me if I talk about driving again!

I'll be honest with you the one thing we did that kept us somewhat sane was that we left at bedtime for the kids. They slept through almost the first 6-8 hours of the trip... After that it was the DVD player, the Ipod's and the DS that kept us sane... Plus we convinced DS at one point he had to look for the sparkly rainbow cow and let us know when he saw it so we would know we were close!!! :rotfl:

Well, that's kind of what we tried! We left at 2pm and drove all night and it was just SO boring! There was nothing to look at. I'm sure the fact that I have two teenage boys that normally stay up half the night didn't help! :lmao:
