Are you cruising on the Magic out of NYC this fall? What is your "Disney Day" itinerary?

Not to put a dampener on your plans, but with the first buses not leaving PC until 7.30am, then I think it will be highly unlikely for you to make the AK EMH, meaning you will hit the park when all of the other offsite guests arrive, and will have to contend with them, along with those EMH guests who will already be in the park.

As i say, I'm not trying to tell you what to do, just trying to point out that perhaps starting in another park and being at the front of the queues there, would IMHO be preferable to arriving at a park that has already had guests there for an hour by the time I arrived.

No worries, we would be doing AK first regardless of the EMH. Though, it would have been nice to make it to rope drop for that. We are only going to be there to hit EE, KRR, Tough to Be a Bug, and possibly safari. We may skip the safari because we have ridden it a million times and it is always so very bumpy. Hard to get pictures

Some of my best pictures were on the safari. My trick is to leave the burst on so I get multiples of every shot. One's going to be good. Also watch for that nefarious piece of grass that seems to stick out in front of every perfect shot, thus attracting the attention of the auto focus mechanism. That piece of grass seems to photo bomb me A LOT! ;)

I have only been to WDW once since they implemented the FP+ system. (August 2014) I was so unhappy with it, and so frustrated, I never bothered to educate myself. All I knew is that there were no available FP times for the rides we wanted, so we stood in lines. We never stood in lines with the old FP system. Anyway, not to make this a FP debate. Can someone please educate me on how this works? I think if we were typical guests, we would get 3 choices a day and then a 4th after the 3 are done? So if DCL is giving us, what in the olden days would be called a Magic FP ( no need to confirm a time, just walk up to any ride that offers FP), then would we still have that option for a 4th? I thought back then (2014) and I still think now that this new system really limits what we can ride if we don't have time to spend in lines.

If you get tickets ahead of time you can get 3 FP+ for the same park up to 30 days in advance per day. If you are staying on property, you can get them up to 60 days in advance.

Now, once you use your FP+ (in the past, you had to select 3, now you can only select one if you want to), you may select one more, either at the same park or another park. Use it, and you can pick one more. Rinse and repeat. You can go to a kisok, or if you have the My Disney Experience mobile app, you can do it there.

With these special FP+ you will have to use them all up first, then you will be able to pick a new one. I imagine they'll give DCL Guests a paper ticket. You would have to go to a kiosk, or you could register the ticket in your MDX account, and then you will be able to use the mobile app to make new FP+ requests.

We made our reservations to go to Epcot as our first park. The time of the excursion is showing up as 7:30am to 3pm. I picked a later departure time and it said until 5pm. Is this just a glitch in the system? When we cruised out of NYC in 2012 we were able to stay until after Wishes.

No concerns...just like 2012, you don't have to specify a time to return to the ship. I'm sure they will be running until after the evening entertainment. Remember in 2012 the last busses returned at 11:00pm or later? It was late summer, so the parks were open much later.

Thanks. I thought that we would have until after evening entertainment but the 3:30 and 5pm return times confused me.

We are on the October 22nd Cruise.

We booked our bus from port at 8a and are going to start in MK. At lunchtime we are going to Monorail from MK to Epcot to use a FP for Frozen. Then we are either Walking or Boat Ride from Epcot to HS. At HS we are doing the Star Wars Desert Party for Foreworks. If we have anytime left we might go back to MK to enjoy the Halloween Decor....or back to the boat.

That sounds very similar to our plan, although we are just going to do one FP ride at HS, before taking the bus to AK for another FP ride and then we're headed back to MK to finish the night off! Phew!:faint:

Our day is going to be nice and relaxing as we fly straight back to Orlando for a week at VGF and the parks after the cruise! (Might seem redundant to some people, but traveling quite a distance to get to the States we like to do things we know we'll like). I think the current plan is to definitely do Animal Kingdom on the cruise day, not sure about other parks but we will definitely be avoiding Magic Kingdom.

We are going to be on the Oct 29th cruise. At sea on Halloween!!!

I'm on the same cruise as you... if you come across two Australian guys, come say hi! :)

Thanks for starting this informative thread!! We are going on our first Disney cruise October 15 from NYC. Is there a link to info on the Disney cruise website regarding the fast pass for Disney day? Are we each given 3 anytime fastpasses total only, or is it 3 anytime fastpasses at each park (so 12 total?). Thanks for clearing up any confusion!!
Also do we need to book a bus from PC to the park? How many days prior to sailing can we do this? I didn't get a registration number, so wasn't able to register on the MDE website yet.

- It's a total of 3 fastpasses for the day.
- Buses are booked on the DCL website once you reach your cruise check-in date. If it's your first Disney cruise, that will be 75 days before departure.
- Tickets will be delivered to your stateroom the night before WDW, you won't have any sort of ticket to register with MDE until that point.

Hope that helps! :)
