my mother is a worrier and says i should look into buying wedding insurance. she told me to read about it on suze ormonds (sp?) site

does disney sell insurance?!

help!

:)

I know I am going to sound really stupid, what does wedding insurance protect?

Depends on how big of a wedding your having. I'm a huge Suze fan and I can't imagine her promoting it unless you are having a HUGE and lavish wedding or if the insurance company is one of her sponsers.

I don't think Disney sells wedding insurance, but I was told I probably need to look into getting it by several people. I'd love to know what you find. I do know that Disney sells trip insurance but it does't cover everything that other trip insurance co. do. And I hear from my Vacation Planner that it's cheaper if you don't go with Disney ins. and that we need it! Well, good luck! :thumbsup2

I ahve wedding insurance but mine was more piece of mind with travelling from the UK.

Mine covers my dress and accessories - Should anything happen (fingers crossed it wont!!) i would be covered for the cost of having to get another one or atleast refunded the cost of mine.

It covers the wedding ceremony and reception - incase anything happens to it and the wedding gets cancelled. It also covers my photography and videography, floral and anything else incase they go out of business or any problems with them i will get a refund upto the amount im insured.

The main reason i got mine was for the wedding dress as i have to ship it home from the wedding etc. Mine cost around $80 which i think was worth it!

http://www.wedsafe.com/ gives you some info on wedding insurance & what it covers

i work in insurance & i did not get wedding insurance but i did have a pup (personal umbrella policy) that covered me for liability at my event.

You learn something new every day on the DIS. I never heard of wedding insurance before. I guess if one can buy health insurance for a pet and vacation insurnance then why not wedding insurance.

this is kind of off topic, but i was wondering if there is a hurricane and your wedding has to be postponed i am assuming that disney will handle this right? it just crossed my mind when reading this since my wedding is august during hurricane season  or do i need to get insurance for this??

We had a small wedding (8 people total), but we had wedding insurance. For us, it covered the costs of totally rescheduling our wedding (location fees, catering, vendors, etc) in the event of some catastrophe that prevented us from having the wedding on our original date. We were told that it covered anything from natural disasters to sickness. Since we were paying for everybody's flight and hotel, we got a policy that covered guest costs as well. For us, it was money well spent.

My wedding is not at Disney, so our venue required us to get wedding insurance, and we got it through our renters insurance company...state farm...but I hear wedsafe is good too! :)

I bought wedding insurance from Wedsafe for DD (melmel's) Intimate wedding last December. I got it primarily because I was afraid of a blizzard that would prevent us from getting to Florida in time for the wedding. I'm so glad I did. Although the weather was not a problem, DD had an unexpected medical problem a few weeks before the wedding & we didn't know if there would even be a wedding until 2 weeks before we were to leave. With the worry about my child, at least I didn't have to worry about loosing all of the wedding money too(everything had to be paid 30 days in advance). It was worth the cost (less than $200) for the peace of mind.
P.S. The cost is based on the cost of the wedding.
