I just called and was shocked at the high prices right now for 2011 since the new rates have not been released. I was quoted 500.00 per night for AKL Feb, yikes! What kind of room rates are you getting and when will they release the 2011 rates? Thank you so much!

Last year it was early in the 2nd week of Aug. I think it was about a 6% increase for most room types, and 'seasons' stay pretty much the same.

I called July 5th because I had a CM tell me about two months age that pkg prices may be released in July this year because ADRs have been moved back to 180 days. I called to check and THAT CM told me no, they would be released in October. I said were they not normally released in August and the was adamant that no - it was October. Frustrating!

I'm trying to decide if I want to book room only and call each day for dining for Jan/11 or if I should just wait until August (or October) or whenever and get the whole trip booked as I want it. I'm concerned when I see posting about the difficulties ppl have in changing things around once booked. We are looking at first week in Jan and I am hoping things will be slow enough that I can get the ADRs I want. I'm already at less than 180 days but figure if no one is booking packages yet maybe I'm ok.

We made ressies in March of this year to go back to the YC again in Jan,'11. We had to put a one night deposit of the "most expensive day of the most expensive time of year" down. We know that once the new rates come out for next year that it will be amended to reflect the new price. We did it this way to make sure we got the hotel and the room catagory we wanted. If a great package deal comes out we will cancel the room only and go with the package. I did get a great AP rate last year of almost 48 percent off the room only.

For Jan 2010, we booked the pay for 4 nights and get 3 free deal for moderate resorts (I am almost certain they had the same deal for deluxe). I know that it was rolled out in September 2009. I think it was the 3rd or 4th week of September.

2010 rates were released on August 2, 2009 (my birthday), that being said I was told 2011 would be released in April 2010 so that shows how much the CM's don't know what is going on

I recently wrote to Disney and asked when the 2011 rates would be released and if they knew whether or not there would be any special offers during the month of May and/or June. I knew that they probably wouldn't give any info. out about the special offers but you can't blame a girl for trying.

Here's the email I received back from them:

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

Each year, our Product Development Department reviews all components
offered under each package name. This determines the packages and
components included for the following year. At this time, room rates
and packages for 2011 have not been announced. Please check back in
mid-August 2010 for updated information.

You are welcome to call 407-W-DISNEY and book a room only reservation
until the packages are released for next year. Room only reservations
may be booked up to 499 days in advance, however, the rates would not be
guaranteed.

Lisa, we appreciate your interest, however we have no knowledge of any
future offers. We can only suggest that you periodically check our
website for any upcoming special offers.

We look forward to your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort next year
and hope that your time with us is magical.

We've already booked for Feb. at AKL and yes, it was at a VERY high rate. I can't wait until the official rates come out and and I can have it adjusted.

We have our fingers crossed for some type of discount because we've been spoiled by 40% codes for our past 2 trips.

We are going to try for next July. I am probably going to wait a while for the room prices to come out...and then I am still debating about waiting for offers (I won't get a pin so that point is moot). I really want to stay at the Poly, and will not be able to affford the regular prices. So if I can get a hotel discount then I will be able to make my dream come true. I check prices online at the WDW webiste all the time for certain hotels and really I don't think they have been sold out unless it was a month before. So I figure if summer rates come out in the winter, I should be ok to book it for July. If not, then it wasn't meant to be and I will save lots of $$.

I don't make many ADR's so that shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Do people think this is a bad plan????? I am not as seasoned as many of you, so I value others educated opions on this matter

I am waiting for the 2011 packages to be released (last year they were released on August 2nd) before I book. That way I only have to make a $200 deposit on the package and my Dreams agent will make the changes when (or if) the discounts come out.

I have booked room only for our March 2011 trip (staying at the Poly). I had to put a deposit of $585 down. Yes, it's expensive, but they make you pay the highest rate for the entire year and that will be adjusted once the prices come out. I, too, am hoping they come out with the 40% code, which they did this past March.

I can only hope.

Until then...I am planning my vaca and preparing my binder.

I just booked Jan 2-6 at AKL club level and paid $585 deposit. I have a sneaking suspicion that this will be the price for our Jan 2 night but am hoping that it comes down for the other nights or we won't be staying there (or we will be in a much cheaper room - looking at a parking lot instead of a savannah . . . ). Glad to know I wasn't the only one who was a bit shocked at the quoted prices.

I just called to try and book a room only reservation at WL for June of next year. The kind CM informed me that there really wasn't a point to it at this point because if I want to add a package I have to cancel the room only reservation I had already made and they'd have to refund my money and it would be a mess. However, she did say that the new rates should probably be released by the end of August, so try back then.

But I was wondering if I book my package as soon as the 2011 rates come out, let's say at the end of August 2010. will I be eligible to apply special discount rates in the future to my package, if/when they come out at a later date?

Enjoy your first stay in a Disney resort, while you stay there you will never stay off property. Usually discounts are not available well in advance, they usually goes out like 4 or 6 months before. While you can do is to register online to receive a planning DVD and you will select the dates you will like to travel, maybe if you are lucky you will receive a promo PIN that you can apply to your reservation. But like they said you can book your room when the 2011 rates are available usually no discount will be for those dates, but don't worry, when something comes available you can call Disney and they will change your reservation to apply the promotion you want and no problem .You can change your reservations as many times you want so you can apply the best deal for your needs. Hope you have a wonderful trip.

We booked a weeks stay at Wilderness Lodge Deluxe Room for May and our deposit ended up being about $850. I only booked early since I know these rooms are limited and we really wanted to stay WL. I am also hoping that if the only release a small percentage with discount we may be able to snag the lower cost rate since most of the booking is done.

In May, I booked a room for my April 2011 trip. I know that DH and I are going and didn't see the point in waiting to book - we already have the airfare. I work as a teacher and will be traveling during my spring break. The airfare gets high during school vacations so I booked early and are traveling Wednesday night. Also, we will be visiting before Easter and I have heard the reports of how crowded the parks can be before Easter. I hope that we can avoid some of the crowds with our travel dates and/or the parks are as crowded due to Easter being so late in the year.
