Are you always borrowed into the next year?

I planned on working so hard on not borrowing points any more. I want to be able to have my total allottment one of these years. Well we have 275 points let for our April 2006 use year and I am not even in my April 2005 use year yet and already wanting to borrow again. Thank being said, are you always borrowing from the next year?


Maybe one day we won't borrow and then we can get that GV that we've always wanted!

We haven't had to borrow in over 5 years.

If we want to make extra trips to WDW, we wait for AP codes and we stay in a regular resort.

I really think that I will be dead before I get my last years worth of points.
It is a risk to borrow, and I almost just got myself in a situation where I might have lost points due to having borrowed them. However the same risk would have been there if they were current year points, and I missed banking them, out of the same expectation to use them.

If Disney suspends borrowing at some point (which they can do) it might prevent me from staying on site that year (or from visiting Disney that year).
But for now, borrowing makes a lot of sense for me.

This year was the first time since we purchased in 1997 that we have had to borrow. We only had to do that because we had already banked our extras when we needed a few more for an extra night! Oh well, we'll be back on track next year.

actually Im thinking of using more of this yrs pts for our Aug vacation (1 of the wknd nights!)

We are always just about right on for our current year. We have an August use year and we "borrowed" those 05 points for our June 05 trip and our September Member Cruise. Also borrowed 11 '06 points - the rest of our '06 points will be used in '06.

I am always in a state of borrowing. I figure I never know what life may bring my way. We may have a child or heaven forbid - a serious illness (been there, don't want to do it again) then we might have to take a couple of years off. I also feel that by the time I am in my 70s when my points expire, I probably won't really care to go that much anyway - so why not borrow now?

We are borrowed out, but will catch up next year because we are doing a Carnival Cruise in lue of one of our longer WDW trips.

we've only owned since '03 and we are in a borrowed state already! borrowed all but 28 of our '06 pts for our jan '06 trip. we have a june use year.

i put us on the waitlist for 50 more BWV pts last week

We just bought a few months ago and are already borrowing from 2006
This is because we are taking a big trip with extended family. Otherwise, I think we will be fine most years.

We just bought a resale and plan on using a strategy of banking and borrowing to avoid losing points. We're getting half of our '04 points, which we'll bank, and then borrow from Oct '05 for use this summer.

As we approach our banking deadline in '06, we'll bank half again. If that works out right, borrowing only the exact number of points we need should keep us from losing any. Of course, an unexpected cancellation on borrowed points could hurt us, but we have a lot of flexibility and that shouldn't happen.

Of course, what will really happen is we will discover one-bedrooms and suffer the same onset of add-onitis everybody else has.

All things considered, there are worse problems in the world than point-debt and add-onitis!

We just bought this month. We have borrowed all of 2006 points for a trip of 20 people. My DH has addonitis (truth be told so do I) We have bought another 30 points that we banked and are going to use next year and borrow from 2007.
