just thought I'd go with the catchy title..

But seriously,

Do any of your family or friends share your Disney obsession?

Do any of your friends share your camping obsession?

None of ours gives a hoot about Disney, our neighbors/friends have a camper, but only want to camp at 1 place 40 minutes from the house, even before the fuel prices went crazy. :confused3

Yes, I am sorry to say, i am pretty much alone. My dh cant resist reminding me that 1. He hates disney and is only going because he loves me. 2. The gas is going to kill us to get to the fort. 3. We cannot afford to take this trip. and 4. He really hates disney and is only going cause he loves me. My dd - 16 years old says i am a geek but i think she is secretly a geek too but would never let me know. Last June, the conference for my job was in San Diego so i took dd with me and we did a Disney Land trip after the conference. This year is in Orlando and of course i cannot be that close and not go but next year is in San Francisco and my dd asked me if we can do DL again. Hmmmmm, sounds good to me. Although it isnt quite as close, but heck it is in the same state. :thumbsup2

SWMBO's first trip to WDW (or any other Disney park for that matter) was our Honeymoon in 1988. She shares my obsession. So do our kids, SWMBO's sister and her family.

We were alone until i pulled in my cousin & her family in this April. They brought their 5th wheel to the fort with us. Now they're already wanting to go back next year. They were easy to hook.

Well....I think I am obsessed with CAMPING, not really Disney:ssst:

FW is great and I'd go alot more often if I lived closer. But my obsession with this board is the people here....not really DIS. :goodvibes

We are alone too. Our families are clueless about the obsession. And of course, everytime we see them, we're always asked, "when are you going back to Disney?" The good thing is, I can always answer that question since I always have a ressie on file ;). It's the same at my work, everytime I take off for vacation, I'm always asked if we're going to Disney again. But DH's work is different, a lot of cops are fanatics about WDW too. In their line of work it is a huge stress reliever and of course (in their mind) there's no crime at WDW. :thumbsup2

I 2nd that.

I would say I am alone. Hubby likes the place and is great conversation when we discuss the Disney concept in a business sense. I just don't think he is obsessed with it. My kids love the place of course, but they aren't obsessed. My brother loves the place, used to work there and is trying to move back to Orlando to work there again, AND he does read the articles I send him, but I don't know if he qualifies either.

I'm the only one I know listening to the "Mouse Junkies" radio station at my desk at work.:rolleyes1

We are crazy about both, camping and camping at the Fort! :thumbsup2 We are pretty much alone on that. Other people just don't get it.

We would love to go to the Fort more often too if we lived closer. Once a year is it and if gas prices keep going up we may need to change that. I hate to even think of that. :worried:

My enthusiasm for FW has spilled over to other camping friends. One told me a while back that he couldn't understand my feelings for FW, until he went. Since then he has made repeated trips and spread the fever onto others himself.

My fiancee shares my love of FW, although maybe not quite to the same degree. However, as we prepare the backyard of her house to park the TT, she has suggested doing a FW theme. She wants me to decorate the yard and even plant FW type plants to acheive that special feel.

I love that woman!!

Nope. What's wrong with them?

Although I have a friend who is looking to get a pop up or TT sometime in the next few years and is going to WDW in September for the first time with her DH and 5 kids. She's the only one I have any real hope for in joining me on this obsession. ;) They're looking to get a camper 'cuz hotel rooms are too pricey with needing to get 2 rooms for the 7 of them. She's even already talking about trying the Fort whenever they do get their TT.

My family calls me Walt because we go so much. I liked going before we got our camper but one trip to the fort and we were hooked. I'm trying to go 3 times a year now because we were going way too much and it was getting rediculous. Thanksgiving will always be our favorite as it was our first trip.

I have a few rogue family members who share the obsession as much as their wallet allows them. :smokin:

I have to confess, I probably have the worst caseof the folks around me. Mine is more of a "Fort" obsession than "WDW" as I love going to the Fort but blanche at paying for 5 adults (my kids all qualify for full fee) for any kind of multi-day pass. When we visit we spend 2-3 days in the parks and spend other days in the Fort, as DTD, or a water park.

Went to Universal once about 10 years ago, it was okay :confused3
Been to Sea World, saw my buds the penguins and road Krakin :woohoo:
Went to Kennedy Space Center last time, was cool :thumbsup2
Did a Cleveland Indian spring training baseball game in March 2007 :duck:

Guess I have to say I'm a Fort Friek? :crazy2:

My whole family shares a love of camping. We go in a popup. Mom and Dad in one fifth-wheel. Uncle in another. (We are dwarfed by them.) But my husband, kids and I are the only ones with a Disney obsession. Not that that is a bad thing. They just don't understand it.

Our whole family has campers, at least my side. We have hooked them all on the fort, one by one. We have even hooked my aunt and uncle. We are probably the most obsessed with Disney. My sister and her husband run a close second. She has as much Disney stuff as I do, but she claims because I work at TDS that I am way off the chart. :goodvibes My DB, we are working on, he is slowly coming around with Disney.

I got the camping bug from my grandparents. They came to the fort with my uncle (which I consider my big bro, only 4yrs difference) and invited us quite often. We used to ride the train A LOT!

My parents don't share our camping bug, but my dad does love tailgating at football games.

I guess I am addicted to this forum most of all. I loved meeting the people at the GG and can't wait for the next GG.

We are addicted to camping AND Disney.

Our oldest child, our DD, and her family just purchased their first RV. She was eager to share her camping experiences with her family. That makes me feel really good about introducing her to the RVing lifestyle many years ago.

My parents sold their TT a few years ago after my father broke his hip and just couldn't handle it any more. They got into RVing because of us.

One son can't afford RVing but loves the lifestyle.

The other son loves Disney but doesn't particularly care for RVing. Where did we go wrong with him?

While my DH loves camping he does not share my "enthusiasm" toward Disney. He is taking us in '09 but that has taken 10 years of frequent "let's go to Disney" persuasion and I only get to go if we camp. (Which is more that okay with me ;) )Basically, so he can sit at the campground while the rest of us do the parks.

My family as well as my parents and my brother's family all have campers. We camp together 4 to 5 weekends each summer. It is a good family activity and the kids love it. That's one answer. Now for the second.

No one else has the obsession for Disney that we have. Friends and family call us the Disney family. They always ask why we go there for vacation every year...yada...yada...yada. I work at a restaurant and have a few customers that are also Disney obsessed so we share stories so I guess I don't feel totally alone.:rotfl2:
