Are you addicted to making/bumping any threads?

No, I rarely start new threads. What I find more annoying is when someone starts a thread and then never returns to engage in any sort of discussion. Why bother asking something if you don't care what others are replying?

I'm also guilty of replying to my own threads (like this one), which is something that really TICKS ME OFF about other threads!

Interesting that the two of you have totally opposite opinions on this . . .

I have been on the DISboards for a long time and have only started one or two threads. I prefer to respond rather than create, although I don’t know why. I like helping people out when I can answer their questions, or just chat with some like minded people.

I'm sorry, I was being a little vague. By "replying" to my won thread I mean artificially keeping it going by posting reply after reply with no interest from other posters. Like, making 6 or seven new posts to my own thread as if everyone is following with rapt attention every freaking hour!

Correct, my comment related to someone who asks for advice on something and then NEVER returns for any sort of follow-up/clarification or discussion. Almost like they got a thrill seeing their name on the recent thread list. Having an OP post on their own older thread to 'bump it up' on the list is different and usually means there wasn't much interest first time around.

I totally agree!
