I work with a lady that comes in my office in the mornings to drink her coffee. She slurps it. She does that in the afternoons with her soft drinks too, so I know she's not slurping because the coffee's hot. Some days, it's like hearing nails on a chalkboard.

sometimes..like with hot chocolate..and drinking the rest of the milk in a bowl of cereal

No slurping here and it is very annoying. I also can't stand to be close to someone chewing with their mouth open. I am trying really hard to get my kids in the habit of chewing with theirs closed.::yes::

Thank heaven for you guys!!! I was beginning to think I'm just a crazy person. My dh slurps horribly. Lip smacking, eating noises, the whole deal. After watching his family eat, I understand it. They all eat that way. All slurpers. And they are really educated, somewhat snooty people. You would think their table manners would be better. Guess I'll just have to learn to live with it but is sure it hard.

I work with another lady that talks and chews with her mouth open all the time. She's got her Master Degree, so I know it's not an education thing. That's one reason why I like to take lunch by myself.;)

I hate slurping noises. My dh does it sometimes as well as my 14 yr old. The worst offender by far is my FIL he can actually slurp his food--no matter what it is--then continues on by smacking away. I cannot believe no one is is family even notices it.

No, but I would trade you in a heartbeat for the co-worker I had that would shamelessly pass gas in the middle of a conversation as if it was as natural as clearing your throat. Ugh!

Why don't YOU gargle your coffee one morning and see what her reaction is to that? :p

I find it mandatory to slurp (through a straw) every molecule of a mocha frappachino. Otherwise, I make every effort to behave myself!::yes::

This thread made me LOL. :D My DH slurps and it drives me crazy. He slurps cereal and soup. Sometimes I call him Slurpy when he's eating. I know it's mean but I can't help it.

My dearH is a big time slurper too. It makes me nuts! I too call him Slurpy occasionally.

One of the grandchildren is a smacker, she chews with her mouth open so you can see and hear every bite! Ick. Otherwise she's such a well mannered kid. We're taking her to WDW with us as well as the other kidlets and I already know that smacking is gonna get to me. I want to be kind, she's only 9 and apparently her dad's family must not find it offensive.
