Do you keep your shopping/grocery cart to one side or the other, sort of like driving on a road, or do you park that sucker in the middle of the aisle while picking out your items, so no one else can get by??? :headache:
Sort of a silly topic, but it does annoy me! And heck, this beats a political thread ANY DAY :lmao:

I'm a polite shopper, I hate those people that leave the cart in the middle of the aisle, let their kids skate all over the place etc.

Yes I'm very polite, and even will often leave my cart at the end of an aisle if the aisle is too crowded. I also hate when husbands are required to go shopping too, but just stand around taking up space in the aisle.

I agree with PixieDust32!! I absolutely hate it when kids are running all over a store getting in the way & running the risk of an accident!

I also hate to see kids opening boxes of cookies/crackers or whatever & eating! Eating fruit bugs me too. That stuff should be paid for first IMO!!!

Could you all come shop at my store? I work p/t at a shoe store. We don't have carts, but we're a huge warehouse type store and we constantly have kids running and yelling (which echoes nicely). And then we have those customers who tear the boxes of shoes apart and leave trash all over the floor, put the shoes whereever and can't seem to notice that we have trash cans within 5 feet of every aisle.

I can't imagine ever leaving a store in the condition that I find it most days when I get there.

Well, off to that job. Wish me luck! (May all my customers tonight be polite like you people!)

:lmao: No kidding! No need for that ;) Even when I see them waiting outside of a dressing room at a dept. store. Let the poor man just go home and watch tv or something. Does he really have THAT good of fashion sense to help you?! My husband doesn't know how lucky he has it!

OK, eating fruit is wrong since it requires to be weighed in order to pay for it!

Oh, I feel for you! I swear I will never work retail again! I got so sick of cleaning up after people :headache: The fitting rooms were the worst! You never know what you might find in there!

I hate when people stand in the middle of aisle and stare at the shelf in front of them. Then if you say excuse me to get by them, they look at you like you have two heads. Another pet peeve is when a shopper puts an item back in the wrong place. I am not talking cereal in the canned good aisle. They change their mind on a flavor of soup and instead of moving a few inches over, put back in the right place.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'm a very polite shopper - I always put things back where I found them if I decide not to purchase (if in a clothing store) and if in a grocery store, I stay to the right.

I also make my list by aisle so I'm in and out quickly.

Have any of you ever had anyone take things out of your cart before? I was toy shopping a couple of years ago and landed the last of a certain toy and a lady tried to take it out of my cart. I couldn't believe it.

No kidding! That's so and rude dishonest. :sad2:

But does anyone ever get tired of always being polite? You are always the one saying excuse me, always the one being considerate, always the one moving out of the way for people, always going out of your help people....
just once in a while I get tired of it, I'm sure I can't be the only one!

I am a polite shopper Too...What I hate is when someone sees someone else they know and feel they need to stand right in the middle of the isle and have a reunion! Drives me crazy.

I also park my cart at the end of the isle and go get what I need if the isle is really busy.

It also drives me nuts when people leave there buggy next to where there car was even though there is a buggy corral right across the way! How lazy can people be... Have you ever had one of those carts come crashing into your vehicle when it's windy?

I am a polite shopper. I don't park myself and my grocery cart right smack in front of the deli counter when they are serving #92 and I have #37.

I always unpack onto the belt according to crushability. Canned stuff first, bread last. That way they can bag it and put it back into the cart with the heavier stuff on the bottom.

I realize that at the end of the transaction that I will be required to pay. (This always seems to come as a surprise to the person in line in front of me. :confused3 ) I swipe my card right away, but I just don't sign until the total is shown.

Can I ask why? When my kids were younger, there were many trips to the grocery store where I would get them a snack (nothing that had to be weighed, however), and pay for it at checkout. Kept them quiet! Rolls were also a big hit - I always made sure to grab an plastic bag so that I wouldn't forget to pay.

This irritates me to no end..that and pushing the cart on the wrong side of the aisle, then someone comes along on the other side, and you can't get by...

One time I came upon a cart stopped exactly in the middle of the aisle. I waited for the woman to notice me and politely excuse herself and move it. She looked at me and said, "You can get by!" I just rolled me eyes, moved her cart for her and muttered something like, "I didn't want to ram your cart". That was a lie, I did want to ram her cart.:headache: :rotfl:

I also leave my cart at the end of the aisle and walk in if it's crowded. On another thread I was told THAT was rude, too...can't win...

Another wife here who thinks it is silly to drag hubby along shopping..Why??:confused3

I am so polite, that when I see something knocked on the floor, I will pick it up. Sometimes you would think I work there, I really do pick up everything. I even drive myself crazy wiht this one. I used to work at KMart..in the toy department...at Christmas...;)

Hi. I live not to far from you.
I bet I know what store you work at

I too am a polite shopper. I also hate those that park their basket and walk around getting stuff. Invariably they leave it unattended at the end of an aisle. I use the scooter baskets and it is a royal pain to navigate around them. I have been known to just move it out of my way and let them figure out where it went.

When I shop with DH he is a "wanderer". It has caused a few tense moments with us. :confused3

I am a polite shopper. I stay to the right and I even slow down before leaving an aisle so I do not hit someone turning into the aisle.

But I do take DH with me. But in my defense I am under five feet tall and he is 6 4 so I need him to reach high. But I have taught him the rules of polite shopping.:rotfl2:

Oh I get this a lot!

WOW! What did you say to her? That is beyond BOLD! I have accidentally waked off with the wrong cart before!! LOL!! It took me a while to realize. It was after stopping at the deli counter.

Nope, you are not the only one! I help bag the groceries, I never ask for help out to the car. I am perfectly capable of loading my own groceries. Half of our baggers during the day, are older men and some look so frail.

Ooh you called it a buggy! ;) I haven't heard that in a while. I love it! LOL
Yes, not taking your cart (buggy) to the corral is totally lazy! The reunions are annoying too. At least move out of the way! What about the cell phone talkers that are talking sooo loud?! UGH

Hey, you sound like me! I do admit, and sorry for anyone that still rights a check, but that is irritating too! LOL Use your debit card! :)

We sure can't win! I can't believe that lady told you "you can get by" what nerve!
