Are you a planner?

We plan...at least we pre-plan for a big trip such as a trip to WDW because there is so much to see. If we go to places like Las Vegas, not so much, we sort of go with the flow. We have our favorite places we know we will go to but that's about the jest of it. For WDW, DH has spreadsheets regarding ADR's and what we can do at each park, that way we don't miss anything. Now I do have to say that DH does plan everything to the last wire if possible, he is "SPREADSHEET MAN, Man, man...!" (I swear one of these days I will buy him a shirt that says that with some sort of spreadsheet in the background that will look like the superman emblem or something :rotfl:) Anyway...but we know that if things don't go by the book it's not the end of the world. I say, do what your comfortable with. We've only been to WDW a couple of times and this time we are going with some who have never been so I think that adds to the reasoning behind the planning.

Did any of that make sense? :confused3 Sorry a little sleep deprived.

I see DW has beat me to this thread. Hopefully I'm not sleeping in the spare bedroom tonight, but I don't plan that extensively. :rotfl: As she stated, I do pre-plan our trip (flights, transportation, lodging, tickets, etc.) as we need to know if we will be able to afford the trip or not. And for this I do have a spreadsheet for. She is also right about me having a spreadsheet for ADR's and what park to attend for the day. As I stated in another post, there are certain shows like Fantasmic and SpectroMagic that are not shown everyday. We enjoy seeing these and we have to plan on which days to see them, according to what days they are showing. So for example: If we wanted to see Fantasmic, I will see what day it is showing. Then plan to be at DHS for this day, and plan an ADR at DHS (or some place close by).

As far as planning what to do in the parks that day, I don't have a spreadsheet for this. When we get there, we will just take our time and go through the park. As the saying goes "things never go according as planned," so I don't make a plan on what to do in the parks that day. Only exception here is as I stated, I'm there to watch Fantasmic or some show like that; then the plan is to get to the show. Other than that, there is no set plan. If I did make a plan, I don't think we would have any fun trying to stick to a plan and trying to get everything done. We're on vacation and aren't in a hurry to get everything done. If we miss something on a trip, gives us a good excuse to go back. :thumbsup2

I'm a planner, to an extent. We know what rides we want to hit, we figure out what parade time would be best, etc but we don't make ADRs unless we're going to Disney for a very important occasion. Just not our thing.

That being said, I check the weather complusively and insist on asking at Guest Services when such and such a character will be out and where!

I plan the hotel/package, flights, and TS meals that we *really* want to do. That's it. I can't overplan, or we'll all be miserable. We like WDW by the seat of our pants as much as we can.

Um, yeah, I'm a planner. That may be an understatement :lmao: Especially when it comes to Disney. But in my defense, with all of my fanatical planning, our Disney experiences have never been anything but perfect.

That being said, I can go with the flow when need be. When we are doing a beach vacation, the only planning I do is where we are going to stay. Everything else is just we do what we want when we want (because a beach vacation is a lot of doing nothing for us, just hanging out at the beach).

But yes, I am a planner. We have a bunch a people over every New years day to watch football, and I'm already working on the menu for next year :rotfl:
