Are you a "parade" person?

I would wait a LONG time for the Main Street Electrical Parade.

I have read it will be at the California Adventure park next year.

I will happily make a trip, either driving or flying 1000 miles just to see the Main Street Electrical Parade.

I can pretty much take or leave the rest.
My thoughts exactly...The only parade IMHO worth any more than a 30 min. wait!!

O.k., but is there much the difference between the Main St. Electrical Parade and Spectromagic? Unfortunately my during my Dark Ages of not getting to WDW for a span of 10 years I missed Spectromagic...I'm hoping it, or an incarnation of it will be back after the 50th? The current parade is fun, but nothing to wait longer than 30 min's for...

I always say I"m not a parade person, and don't make any plans to go out of my way to see one. But whenever I do catch a parade, I absolutely love it and wonder why I don't schedule in parades. This last trip I caught the MK & MGM parades, and Spectro. And the MNSSHP parade, which was the first parade I've ever seen while sitting front row.

I like the parades, but have to say that the worst behavior we've encountered at WDW has been either while waiting for or during a parade. People get absolutely ridiculous and hostile, and it's actually stressful for me to sit and wait for parades to start.

So we don't see them often -- tho' we did wait almost an hour for Spectro last month. The worst part about that was the group of British guys who came and stood upwind of us and proceeded to fart all the way through the experience. Even the girl that was with them kept begging them to stop. Totally disgusting.

Parades in general, yes, but parades at Disney? Not so much. I grew up in New Orleans and either marched or rode for much of my life, so parades are in my blood, but I like them interactive, and I like them long. (I also don't like being forced to watch from ground level; it's just no fun taking a kid to a parade without a parade ladder.)

The MK, especially, is really just too small a venue to hold a parade that is not designed to be seen from well back from the route. Disney builds their floats with too much of the detail too close to the ground, so we almost never bother, because getting close enough to see the floats clearly would take too many hours out of a paid-for park day.

Parades are wonderful! You are seeing live entertainment, talented actors, dancers etc! Spectro is so magical, and all the others are just great. Disney does a good job of crowd control too, making it less stressful! Enjoy them!

We used to skip the parades to get in more rides and just catch glimpes as we were walking to the next ride, but this year I have made plans to catch all the parades b/c they will be holiday themed.

We plan on watching the parades. Our DGD loves parades and goes to all the Firemans Parades that we have up here, so she really does not mind wait times. We also have my Sis-in-law who generally visits WDW with her friends and their family and they go commando so she never gets to enjoy the parades. I really hope that we are lucky enough not to encounter too many rude people, as my DD is trying to teach the little one the benefit of using her good manners. Pushy people who are rewarded for their tactics can set months of hard work back a step.
