In my travels and talking to people, the question allways comes up "Where are you from?" But lately the question after that is usually "And where are you from originally?" People are allways a little surprised when I tell them that I am a born and raised Chicagoan and still living there. So a native Chicagoan/Illini.

So do you still live where you were born and raised? Or am I becoming a rarity?

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Now I live in Maryland. Apparently I still have my NY accent because most people can tell that I'm not from these parts.

I was born and raised in NJ.
Once I became an adult, I came to my senes, I moved to Georgia.

I love it here, and always answer "Georgia" when asked where I'm from.
If someone pushes the issue, and asks where I'm from originally...I'll admit that I grew up it Jersey, but only when I was young and stupid !! hahaha!!

Born and raised in Texas and I am still here. I moved away once and realized I loved Texas too much, so I came back. My husband was born and raised in Houston and is still here - which is rare.

Born and raised in Texas and I don't ever plan on leaving.:thumbsup2 I will be here till I die.

I love being a native and I seriously love everything about my state. I love the food, the history, the culture..everything.

"When I die, I may not go to Heaven. I don't know if they let cowboys in. But if they don't, just let me go to Texas, Lord. Texas is as close as I been."--Tanya Tucker :cool1:

Never lived outside of Michigan. Made background checks for the Bar exam a lot easier.

In the town I grew up in we had a name for kids who had never lived outside of the town. We called them "lifers" and it was almost a term of respect. I was a lifer.

OFF TOPIC: Evil Genius, how is Miss Information? I miss your updates.

I'm a native Atlantan, which is really rare here. I live just north of town now.

Born and raised in Chicago, now I'm in the 'burbs about 10 miles away from the house where I grew up.

Yep. A native of Indianapolis, IN. I did live in Pittsburgh, PA for about a year and thought I was going to live there for a long time. But oh well. I'm now back in Indy.

I was born and raised in a city in southern NH. So I am a native of New Hampshire. But I now live in northern NH and as far as the people in my town are concerned, I am not a native of the town although I am a definite step up from those who moved here from out of state. I am allowed to be a "local" since I spent a lot of time here growing up. But I'll never be a native!

Having been stuck in NJ for 15 years, your post made me LOL!

Oh, and I was born in Arizona, but moved to CA when I was a baby and consider myself to be a native.

Born and raised in Fort Worth, and I still live here.

My ancestors arrived in Texas in 1839 and, I firmly believe, did not continue West due to heat stroke, so they settled down to die here, starting a long family tradition. ;)

I was born and raised in southeastern Michigan, and that's where I am now, but...

I spent 8 years in Chicago and 3 years in south Florida! I just moved back to Ann Arbor to be closer to my family, so I don't feel like I really live here yet. I feel a little like a nomad.

After this winter I'm seriously considering moving right on back to Florida. I loved it there, and if I could have convinced my extended family to move down there with me, I never would have left!!

Anyway, I love being close to my family. But it is a BIG struggle weighing my personal unhappiness with this location vs. wanting to live near my family. And I'm not happy in Michigan right now! Brrrr.

:sunny:

I was grew up two towns over from where I live now. My husband still works for that town's fire department. Out of six kids in my family, however, one lives in China, one lives in Texas, one lives in Maine, and the rest of us still live no further than an hour away.

We moved across the river from Iowa to Illinois in order to cut our commute time. I will ALWAYS be an Iowan no matter what. Besides, thats where our cemetery plots are. :rotfl:

I was born in NY, but my family moved 3 years later to Hawaii, then to Florida, then to Virginia (and no, my father is not military, but he does work for the federal government and all moves were by choice). Now, DH and I live in MD.

Ok I'm in NJ now and you guys are making me :rotfl2:

I was born in Queens, NY grew up on Long Island. Went to college in MA. Came back to NY- Lived in Westchester, then back to LI and now we are planted in
New Jersey! We love where we live though. The only downside are the taxes and that's everyplace so we'll stay put for awhile.

But my cousin actually is living in the house she grew up in. (Her parents have died and she lives there with her family now) And my best friend is living in the Backyard of the house she grew up in. Her parents gave them a gift of a buildable parcel of land. So they both live EXACTLY where they were raised.

I live near where I was born but I was raised pretty much anywhere BUT here. LOL

Born and raised and live in Los Angeles. You'll have to use a crowbar to make me leave.

And remember the golden rule. If you move here, you MUST convince someone else to leave.
