I despise the yankees, but Im reluctantly cheering for them. Sometimes it's ok to be a hypocrite. What say you? It's ok, nobody knows anyone here.

I agree with your last sentence. You only know what people choose to tell you and then you have now way of knowing if it's true.

As far as the world series goes I dislike both teams equally. I like sports and if I don't have skin in the game I usually root for the underdog. In this case I can honestly say I don't care.

I like the idea of the Bronx Bombers. They helped the borough maintain its identity during the lean years. No chance I’ll support them by attending games though. That was the man’s job and he did it well.
Guess that and other things make me a hypocrite 😜

My Diehard Cub fan instinct is to cheer for Anthony Rizzo! I hope he does well in the series, but I do not care one way or another who wins.
I will watch as much of the WS as I can because I LOVE baseball!

Yes.

I am a huge proponent of animal rescue. I have fostered probably 60 dog/puppies over the past 9 years, given thousands of dollars to local rescues and even held 2 fundraisers in my home for a local rescue. Two of my current dogs are rescues.

I, however, absolutely love westies. You might see a westie come into rescue in my area every few years. I adopted one of them, and fostered the other. Full westie puppies basically never come into rescue.

Two years ago I had recently lost my rescued westie due to age and I was just finishing a very rough year of chemo and complications due to my cancer diagnosis. I wanted a westie puppy. I researched westie breeders in my entire region of the country. I wanted to make sure I was not getting one from a puppy mill. It took several months and we traveled almost 6 hours to get him, but I got my boy. He really brings me so much joy. I still fill a bit guilty, though.....

Probably. I can't think of anything specific offhand, but I'm sure there's a number of areas where I've said one thing and done the opposite. Hey, I'm human. :)

We have gotten so fed up with the cost of attending all professional sports. Plus, I am an Oakland A's fan, and their story over the past decade trying to force Oakland to build them a new stadium and their moving here to Sacramento where ticket prices will be through the roof really have turned us off. We won't be watching the World Series. We have stopped going to Spring Training in Phoenix due to the cost. And I haven't been to a Sacramento Kings game or any other event at their arena since they moved into their new arena 8 years ago.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of baseball. I used to be. I used to go down to games all the time. I still have my button for surviving an extra inning night Giants game at Candlestick. I like and follow my teams but I don't watch much. And when my teams are out, I really don't bother. And honestly, I really don't have the gumption to watch and root against the Blahgers.

I'm a Mets fan who grew up in the late '90s and early 2000s, so it was rough for me as a kid, and because of it, I despise the Yankees. I still hate the Yankees and am exceedingly conflicted on this one. My son was born this year, and I don't want the Yankees to win the WS, but I also don't like the Dodgers; they beat us in the NLCS, so I don't know who I will root for. My wife and her family are Yankees fans, but there is a big part of me inside that really hates the Yankees. I like some of the players on both teams, so I am conflicted even more.

I can be hypocritical when it comes to things like eating meat after being horrified at seeing what goes on at a slaughterhouse.

I really really wanted it to be a subway series. But you know how it goes. I really wanted to see what it was like for new yorkers to go at each other.
