Are you a Disneyland FANATIC?

::yes:: I am a total FANATIC!!!! We had some friends go with their kids for the first time. They said it was okay but wouldn't make it a point to go back. :faint: Total blasphemy. All I do is scheme to try and take the kids back! :lmao:

It makes me happy just to read everyone's responses!!

Oooooooooooo I forgot to mention the kids bathroom is all Mickey Mouse. I'll find a pic and post it later. :hyper:

Add me to the list! I too grew up watching the wonderful world of Disney on Sunday nights but I didn't really "get it" till I was an adult. My first trip to DL was when I was 8 and I didn't get to go that much as a child as my parents didn't have a lot of money. But when I DID get to go I always loved it. I went at the age of 25 and realized that I had really missed out and my parents had never taken me to see any of the classic movies so when I got home I rented ALL of them. Then I made it my quest to buy them all on video. Of course you know about the moritorium thing so it took me several years but I finally had them all. And now since I have had kids of my own I have now made it my quest to replace them on dvd. And I have now got almost all of them on dvd! :)

I didn't get TRULY obsessed though until I had kids of my own.

I took my own kids when they were babies and we started going once a year back around 2000. We took them to DL and then to DW in 2002 and we have been going at least once a year since. And we bought our first AP to DL in 2006. In 06 and 07 we probably made about 4 trips each and although with money being tight we probably won't be able to make as many trips in the next few years I STILL love it.

My kids have ALL the Disney movies, toys, we go to the Disney store regularly and I shop on Disneyonline. We go to all the Disney on Ice shows. You name it we do it, buy it or own it. LOL.

I have several of the Disney Treasure DVDS, especially the ones about Walt or the parks because esp interest me.

I too don't get people that don't love it.

No matter how many times I go I never get tired of it and as soon as I get home I want to go back and I always am planning my next trip. I also come here and go to other Disney sites to get my "fix" in the meantime.

It is just one of the few "good" things in this dreary existence that makes life worth living! :)

I am more of a Disneyland (or theme park) fanatic than I am of the actual Disney company. I like many of the movies well enough - most especially the older stuff - but what I really love is the experience of Disneyland. It is heaven on earth for me as a mom of young children. I plan to go back a minimum of once per year from now on. My DH is starting to get concerned . . .

Our last name is the same as one of the THE MAIN characters so what does he expect????? :rotfl2:

I am a new 'fan'-atic. It is my very favorite topic of conversation, which surprises me more than anyone. I remember a few years ago sitting in a Dr.'s office reading a Disneyland magazine and reading about a lady who loves DL so much that she had her artificial limb decorated in Disney stuff and I thought, "Well, that's just nuts. Who could love a child's theme park that much?" :rotfl: Fast forward a few years and here I am after only one visit giving serious thought to moving back to a city I came to really dislike just because it is only 6 hours away from DL versus the 15 I now live. :lmao: In our crazy world full of crazy people DL is a joy to plan for, think about and talk about. Walt Disney certainly blessed the world more than he probably even thought possible. Thanks Mr. Disney!

Now I am sitting here wondering what your last name is :) Are the words in capital letters a clue? Is it 'mick' or 'mickey'? I have never heard of the last name of mouse, but may be possible:) hmmm, very curious :rotfl:

Here was last year's all Disney tree. Bummer it's blurry!

Wow!!! I LOVE your bathroom!!!! I just had a poster collage made through the Wal-Mart website of all my favorite pictures from our last trip. I'm just waiting to get it framed then I'll be hanging it in our living room. I can't wait for more trips so I can make more collages to cover the walls! :)

Is there a Disney-holics anonymous? Or should I say anonymouse? ;)
Oh, I hope not, I don't want to be cured!!! :lmao:

I have to echo what so many previous posters have said...If I am not there, I am planning when I will be there next. It is an eighteen hour drive or a 2 1/2 hour flight...not close enough!!! My DS's are a blast to take, although I think my DS 13 is definately the other fanatic in my house. DH had never been before we were married (his parents say they "Are not those kind of people" whatever that means.) so I took him when our boys were 2 and 4. It was love at first sight! Now, our family and friends wonder how we contracted this disease and if they should try to fix us. :rotfl2:

In 2006, we went to DLR in April and in December. 2007 was a 16 day trip to WDW and DCL. This year, we have a family trip in May, I have a sister trip in September, our annual holiday trip in November, and we are already planning our 15th anniversary in January 2009 and DS 12th Bday in April 2009. :cloud9:

People around us may not understand, but it is what we do, and it is what we love. We love to collect the art, and we love to collect the memories.:grouphug:

Oh yes, I am guilty of the addiction.....and proud of it!! Don't anyone dare try and cure me or I'll hit you with my mouse ears!
I have been a Disney nut since I was a kid, but never knew true mouse mania until my first DL visit at the age of 17. I also visited WDW at the age of 18, but my heart remained in Anaheim.
My love and adoration stretches across all things Disney - the park (natch,) the movies, and the man himself - every research paper I wrote in college somehow tied into Walt Disney. I also have amassed a collection of things that help me feel that "Disney feeling" when I am not at my "home away from home" - I have a Disneyland keychain so the magic is always at my fingertips, as well as my Mickey watch which is worn wherever I go, no matter if I am in sweats or an evening gown. Mickey goes with everything!
Luckily, while my DH does not share my rabid mania, he is a fan and is happy to enable my addiction. My children have been smart enough to follow in my Disney-loving footsteps (or are clever enough to humor me so they don't get hurt) If money were no object we would probably live in the park, sleeping with the feral cats in the fake rocks outside Tomorrowland, but alas we have been hindered with real lives and a mortgage and stuff (stupid reality!) so we are managing to average a trip about every three years. Is it bad that I count the intervening years as "marking time"? I mean, life away from Disneyland is overrated anyway, right?? :rotfl:

Oh and yes, we have several friends who have taken their kids out of a sense of "duty" - like you HAVE to take your kids just once to say you did it - and they have no desire to go again. All they could talk about was the crowds, the cost, blah blah blah. I feel so bad for them, how could they have missed the magic? :wizard:

Does it count when a 31-32 yr old woman who is happily married and mother to a wonderful 2.5 yr old wants a princess themed bedroom? (and husband humored me and said okay!) All I can think about is Disney. I too loved Sunday nights and remember watching Disney ( I loved Chip and Dale!).
At 15 I watched Beauty and the Beast every day when I came home from school. (Belle is still my favorite!) My parents took me to WDW at 16 and for years after I dreamed about WDW and always in my dreams I was leaving and crying. And finally, my WHOLE family is planning on going to Hawaii in November, and where are DH and I planing on going? You got it, DL! We chose to go to DL instead of Hawii. We have never been to Hawaii and still DL wins hands down. Nobody in my family gets it. In my husbands family, most do. So in a long winded answer, I am a Disney Fanatic and I love it!

YES! YES! YES!

My DH and I are such huge fans that we moved to the Anaheim area right after we got married. Now, we live just a block away from the Disneyland Resort and love to walk to the parks any day of the week. Its like a perpetual vacation for us. Before we got married, my DH gave me an custom-made engagement ring with Mickey Mouse facets on the side. We've been to most of the Disney parks around the world (Paris, Tokyo, Orlando, Anaheim) and hope to do Hong Kong and Tokyo again next year. We love it!!

I absolutely am a Disneyland Fanatic!! I'd be there every week too if I lived closer! Everyone has something that they like in life, for us it's Disneyland. I don't see how that's bad at all.

My house is full of Disney stuff. From the big curio of my snow globe collection in the living room. To statues and pictures all over the place. To the license plate on my car, and even my mouse pad! :)

I'm totally going to do one of our bathrooms in Disney after seeing those pictures. Maybe that's something I'll be on the look out for while we're at DL in June! Stuff to redo it in! That one is mainly my son's bathroom, I think he'd love that!! :)

Here's a few pics of my Disneyland Toontown Christmas village! I absolutely adore it. I still need the Fire Station and the Toontown pond. Not easy items to get!

I've been a huge DL (Mickey Mouse) fan since the first time I went in 1989. I have so many set's of "ears" as it's a must purchase everytime I go to the park. I've hooked a friend to go with me each year as a girls weekend, this year we've chosen to go during Halloween as we've never been during that time of year. We stay at the GCH (tried the others, but nothing beats being so close to the parks). I work in Camarillo, CA but live in Portland, OR so every chance I get I'm always making side trips to DLR, the park is so beautiful, it never gets old and I swear everytime there is something new to see!!

We've got 5 cats - three are named after Disney Characters - Mickey, Donald, and Daisy. There's something Disney in each room (DH makes me limit the real common areas) and then our spare bedroom is just covered with stuffed animals, the ears, antenna balls, framed Disney pictures (including my first share of stock - which has the phrase "Now we can call our family vacations business trips!") plus much much more!

Every other year is my year to pick our family vacations. 2005 - DisneyCruise (WOW - most amazing experience and was off the WestCoast for the 50th Anniversary); 2007 WDW, 2009 - DisneyCruise again - this time Eastern Carib and 2011 -DisneyCruise on one of the new ships, with of course many long weekend trips down to DLR!!

I also love flying on Disney's planes through Alaska Airlines, there are three of them and each time, I take pictures of the plaque inside the door, and pictures of the outside of the plane (for those that haven't seen them, there is one commemerating Disneylands 50th Anniversary called "The Magic of Disneyland", one with the Characters - Mickey, Donald, Minnie, and Goofy called "The spirit of Disneyland" and finally the Spirit of Make a Wish.

My kids, even as teenagers, still love going and I'm very greatful. We know their kids will be Fanatics too :-)

We're getting married this June (yep, already call him my DH we've been together 12 years and finally tying the knot), while he wouldn't let me have a Disney wedding, which is ok because I guess it's sort of his day too :-) He did let me have a few things including:
Music - since we aren't really doing a traditional wedding, I had someone introduce me to Jim Brickman and he's got an almost all insturmental Disney CD. We'll start out the wedding to "Beauty and the Beast", then my bridal party will walk down the isle to "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" (it is slowed considerably!), I will walk down the isle to "Someday My Prince Will Come", once we are married we'll walk together to "A Whole New World" and finally our first dance will be "Can You Feel The Love Tonight", plus a wedding cake topper, cake cutting set, and place cards! I can't wait!!

Can't beat DL and Disney in general!
