Are You A Disney "Prepper"?

I think I will start picking up Disney Gift cards each payday between now and our Aug. trip. We are going to Disney in 2 weeks so really no point for that trip. However...we have a good amount of time between now and the Aug. trip. That will be my new PLANNING TRIP GOAL. :cool1:

What is the Target red card? IS that a credit card? :confused3

Target's "RED" card is either their credit card or a debit card (that you can link directly to your checking account).

There are a bunch of threads on here about the 5% target discount, but in a nut shell, you pay with your RED card (either type) and you get 5% of your total purchase. This includes 'entertainment' gift cards. Disney gift cards fall into this category.

OH WOW....that is a good deal. I need to look into this too.

My Disney prepping is probably TV show worthy.
I have noticed that I compulsively buy everybody outfits... and costumes. My kids have enough costumes to not need clothes. My older son has a dozen different swimsuits just in case he wants to wear a different character. My daughter had an assortment of dresses until she got too big, now there is just the pirate costume, but the boys have matching outfits. I dress them up for every character meal, they each have makeup for their pirate costumes (YDS is going to be Peter Pan this year! I am so excited!!!).

I also have a suitcase full of Disney themed car activities, which I also buy as if I am never going to see them again. Last year they were only awake for about 7 hours of the drive but we could have camped out in the car for weeks.
We have Disney hair ties, different stuffed animals for each park day... I know it's crazy, but we have a good time.

I guess I would consider myself a "prepper". I have the "box" where I keep dollar store wallets, my over the door shoe storage thing, travel size toiletries, walkie talkies, lanyards, glow sticks, etc. If I have a trip on the horizon (6 months out or so) I kick it into high gear and add granola bars, laundry sheets, etc...anything that I may use/need:thumbsup2 I couldn't imagine a trip to WDW without at least 6 months of planning, but I want to be ready.....if I have to test the theory ;)

I'll play.

I have a couple of prepper strategies. I don't stay onsite very much so I like to create Disney magic in the resorts that I stay in. Since I am now going down with my family, I like to show them some of the Disney Magic in the resort. It is all adults so I only have to do things that adults would like. I also take the auto train down so I prep for food as well. We are staying for two weeks so I am making all sorts of arrangements from that.

1. I have several bottles of the Method Mickey and Minnie hand soap dispensers that I put in the bathrooms.

2. I stocked up on the full size bottles of H20 products when they were on sale at Marshalls. I also have some of the smaller bottles from previous Disney trips and the Mickey imprinted hand soaps that I will put in every bathroom.

3. I purchase target gift cards on a monthly basis.

4. I put all small bills in a container and collect all loose change.

5. When I do Swagbucks I order Amazon gift cards so that I can get the roommates removal decals to decorate some of the spaces Disney style.

6. Menu planning so that I can stock up on things that we will use to eat in the room when they are on sale (Bacon, pancake mix, syrup, juice, etc.)

7. When Disney Store has sales, I order adult t-shirts and stuff for the people that will be going on the trip.

8. This trip I am ordering bathrobes and cups for everyone so we can sit on the balcony and enjoy.

I do more than that but this is just a start.

:thumbsup2 I wish I was better at Disney prepping. LOL We just decide to book and we go. I need to work on this. We do have a change charge that we throw change in...have never really used it for Disney though.

The Target Red card is great. I have the debit one. Watch for sales on gift cards at Target. The Disney gift card is included in a lot of these sales plus get extra 5% off by using your card! Last December I bought $620 worth of gift cards for $460. Paid my annual dues with them!
