Are you a designated driver?

DH and I will take turns because our town doesn't have cabs. My girlfriends and I party out of town so we'll spring for a cab.

How do some of you guys have entire groups of friends that don't drink? I don't know many adults that don't drink at least sometimes.

We went out to the bars in our 20s. Now in our 40s its just not something that appeals to us. We go out for supper or a movie. Not really out drinking. Doesn't mean we don't drink a glass of wine with supper. It just means we don't go out and get sloshed anymore.

Actually in my large group of friends and most of my family I know of don't drink. I have one friend who does drink more often but usually at home and another friend that has a drink a couple of times a year. So when we go out or have a party there is no alcohol. Sure saves us a lot of money LOL

I was a DD about a week ago.....last Saturday we had dinner with a friend for his birthday, we ate at a really good Mexican place that had amazing Margaritas, I had 2.5 with dinner and then my friend drove us to the next bar, then she and DBF drank and I didn't. By the time we left I was sober so I drove to the next spot, then DBF was done drinking and I had one more, by the time we headed home we were both sober. lol But normally he's the DD to be honest.....

Since I don't drink much I guess I am. If we go out my DH normally has a beer or two so I drive and skip the drinks.

This. I really don't drink and if I do it's one glass of wine or one cocktail. 98% of the time I'm the driver to get us home.

Cabs are the drunk persons best friend

Normally we go out "drinking" about twice month, we just park the car, walk to all bars , stop for drunk hour at a Denny's to sober up. Take cab home if we had to much nectar of the gods.

Most of the time I am even when it's not my turn.

The last party we went to my husband was supposed to be but then I saw him drinking so I didn't. Good thing because he had way too much that night. There aren't many cabs around where we live and sometimes they don't even show up after you call them so that's not an option.

Now I mostly limit my drinking to at home.

My husband hasn't drank in over 10 years so if I go out with him, he's always the DD. If I go out with girlfriends, I am.

DH and I switch on and off. We don't really go out to bars but if we're going to a party or wedding, usually the person who's family is involved is the person not driving. My cousin is getting married in September. Her reception will be 5 minutes from our house. We're getting a room at the hotel so that we can both enjoy ourselves.
