The CDC had a conference call today that I was on & here is the skinny --- they don't know a whole lot about it

what they do know is that it is human to human transmission, it is sensitive to Tamiflu (which this season's flu was not), 40 cases lab confirmed in the US, hand washing & cough covering are

Signs & symptoms are the same as influenza A & B -- high fever, cough, sore throat

they have no crystal ball as to how this is going to play out (yes--someone asked )

25% of the CDC stockpile of antivirals has been sent out to the states (they would say which states -- I'm assuming NY, OH, CA, TX & KS)

My day was pretty good. Did some cooking, laundry and shopping. The usual.
The weather was beautiful. Not too hot. Tomorrow will be a real summer day and then we'll have a cool down.

My day was pretty good. Did some cooking, laundry and shopping. The usual.
The weather was beautiful. Not too hot. Tomorrow will be a real summer day and then we'll have a cool down.

Oh enjoy tomorrow. It was wonderful here today and back to our regularly scheduled spring, tomorrow, which I'm okay with too. Our trees are FINALLY starting to bloom. Being so close to the lake we are usually the last to bloom.

anti virals only lessen the symptoms -- not a 'cure' this strain is also sensitive to Relenza.

& the all important -- no you can't catch swine flu from eating pork

Oh enjoy tomorrow. It was wonderful here today and back to our regularly scheduled spring, tomorrow, which I'm okay with too. Our trees are FINALLY starting to bloom. Being so close to the lake we are usually the last to bloom.

The trees are blooming beautifully and all of the colorful tulips are out. All of this looks lovely but it makes my allergies worse than ever.
