Are we there yet? Can we eat yet? YES to both!

Oooh your dinner looked delicious. I like some creme brulee's. I think it all depends on what flavorings they use when they make it. I like maple and butterscotch creme brulee. John doesn't like them at all because of the burned sugar on top.

As far as whether or not to use the pin code.....I say go for it! Are you totally opposed to driving?

if it's your date range, I would book it...you can make any changes to package plans once it is booked/ you just can't switch to/from room only. It takes a $200 deposit for the pkgs and just a single night for the room only; in their computer system it is interchangeable. If something else come up better, you guys are thinking of not driving this go round? I want to fly, too! Danny is so hard to keep awake on the ride but can never justify the cost of the flights and I don't mind flying but as long as it is not raining I rather drive.

I say go for it and then just watch for flight specials. Southwest often runs really good prices from New Orleans to Orlando - it is sort of their "feature" route I think! Sign up for Ding, Southwest's little reminder app that tells you what the current specials are. Driving can be your backup, but we have almost always found a good deal.

What are your dates again? (I am think fall?) If so book it now and if something comes up better you can change it. As for flights, Those a typcial flight costs right now. But if you aren't going till fall, then you can keep watching and book when something good comes up. I know last summer SW had some fantastic rates that came out for Fall/early Winter. If it stil lstays too high, then just drive.

I woke up this morning starving and am trying to down my breakfast as I read the DIS - your meal made my stomach growlllllll! :rotfl: Wow, does that look (and sound) amazing! I personally love creme brulee, but it does matter what kind of flavoring they put in it, plus the textures of the burnt top and the cream underneath have to be just right-otherwise it can be a big turn off I think.

Go for the trip!!! Maybe you can get a better flight rate as the time gets a bit closer!

It's not that I'm opposed to driving, it just seems like it would be SOOO much easier to hop a plane at 6am, and be in the parks at 9! LOL. I'm an instant gratification type of girl.

That's kind of where I'm at. It would probably cost me abuot 325.00 to drive, vs. 805.00 for flights. I think I'm going to book, and just figure the flights out later. That $500.00 savings is A LOT of money, that could go towards souveniers!

I'll do that now! I've never heard of it. A friend of Chris's told him awhile back that the two of them fly for $400.00 round trip, so that would make it 600.00 for the three of us, which is even better. I don't know. I just had to estmiate flights using Sept rates, bc they arent taking flight ressies for Dec yet.

The week of Dec 11th, either 4 nights or 5 nights.

It was a HUGE turn off. Idk what exactly it was, but the cream was weird tasting and the top was over burned, I just didn't care for it. But that steak, WOW.

Y'all have convinced me! I'm going to book when I get my tax return!:banana::banana:

The next morning, we were up bright and early. TOO early, as it turned out. They had left the checkout package on our door. I felt sooo sad when I saw it.

We finished packing and loaded up the car. The plan was to be at Downtown Disney when they opened for breakfast at Wolfgang Puck Express. I had been DYING to try this place, and I wasn’t leaving Disney until I had it!

We got down there, over an hour early, and I took a few pics.

Here is Jacob perusing the menu:

Finally they opened!

Chris and I had the breakfast pizza: This thing. OMG. It was…. Just…. beyond… description… ( I really love food, in case ya’ll hadn’t caught on to that yet ). Bacon, eggs, cheese, crispy crust, with a drizzle of ranch dressing…. AND it was HUGE! Chris and I could have totally shared one, but we were using up our credits, so we each got one.

IMG_3773.jpg

Jacob had this pocket thing, I cant remember now what it was called: It was stuffed with eggs and bacon and some veggies I think. He had roasted potatoes on the side that he didn't want, so I helped him with that!

IMG_3775.jpg

Deshea had waffles and fruit. Not so exciting. My girl is rather picky.

IMG_3774.jpg

Afterwards, we did a little shopping; I picked up a few things for Jarrott, (my 10 yo). Ok, so I picked up a LOT of things for him. Deshea got some Christmas decorations for her mom, and Jacob did a little pin trading.

When we were done, we ran over to Earl of Sandwich to get a few things for the trip home, using up all of our counter credits. I don't remember exactly what we got, but I do remember I wasn’t that impressed. They ain’t got nothing on our po’boys! LOL… The desserts, however, were to DIE FOR. I had this brownie cookie thing and it had peanut butter in it and… oh boy… that was good stuff. I will go back here, just to grab some snacks while I’m doing my DTD shopping!

Then loaded up in the car and headed home…

Final thoughts:

Things we loved:
The MUSTARD SAUCE at ‘Ohana. - In case ya’ll have forgotten how much I loved it.
Free Dining! – We ate at a bunch of places we would never have tried otherwise. I’ll probably get the dining plan every visit from now on.
Sci-Fi Dine in and Coral Reef – Will absolutely return to these.
Fantasmic & Lights, Motors, Action!
Bus service – Despite all the complaints, we didn't wait very long at all.

Things we DID NOT like:
Food court. – Yuck. Enough said. (except for breakfast pastries)
The crowds at MK on Monday. We won’t be going back the week of Thanksgiving again. I’m leaning to the 2nd week of December for this year’s trip.
Whispering Canyon Café – waste of a table credit.
And….. Jacob wants me to add… Disney bacon sucks.

Y’all have been great readers and I can’t wait to go back, so I can do another TR! Thanks everyone for reading, and I hope you enjoyed it!

If anyone is interested in a mini-TR attached to this one, of my Smoky Mts trip, I’d love to post one!

Love and Pixie Dust,
Ang

Great TR, Ang!
sorry to hear it is ending already; and we always love to follow along our dis buds on their wonderful trips....

The food at Wolfgang looks and sounds yummy, and sorry EoS did not do it for you (I guess I just never compared it to po-boys; I normally order oyster and/or shrimp don't care for roast beef --can't stand the mess), I'm not a big sandwich eater (normally when I get a po-boy I eat half with the bread and half wiith out. I really like the Hawaiian BBQ chicken at EoS and the club salad was really good. I think it is the sauce and dressings and the freshness that won us over, and the soup (I don't even eat tomato soup and loved it). But, you are right it is not the same as po-boys.

Sounds like on your Dec trip you guys need to hit Ohana and Wolfgang for breakfast every other morning ;)

can't wait to hear more....
 Connie

Thats the same time (aproximately) that we had origionally planned to go last year. In Aug, SW ran some great deals. We could've flown the 3 of us for under $400. So keep watching.

I'm so sad it's over.

I have to tell you that my older DD, Paige, broke up with her boyfriend yesterday. I was sad. He was such a nice guy. I told her NOT to go find some other guy right away (she still likes this loser guy that she has liked for years). I told her she needed time by herself for awhile. She said she did want more time with her friends. But I know if "loser" says jump, she'll be right there. I don't want her to be with a guy that she doesn't want to be with...but I don't want her with a guy she likes and he treats her like dirt...which is what loser guy pretty much does....He's one of those guys whoe "doesn't want a steady girlfriend" UGH!!! :sad2:

Oh man! That breakfast food looks amazing!!! I'd love to get over to DTD that early to try it...marking that down in my notes, maybe it will happen. YUM!

I'd love to read about your Smoky Mountains trip! :thumbsup2

What I think about EoS, is that maybe we need to eat it when it's made, not take it on the road for the trip? I LOVE tomato soup! I might try that!

Only $400.00 for all three!! That would be ... beyond awsome! I'll have to keep checking!

Maybe there's an epidemic of breakups. I don't even know what's up with D & J, they talk, they fight, they ignore eachother, he's had another GF on and off since him and Deshea broke up.. It's like a darn soap opera with them!

Yay!!!!!

YAY! I will totally do a lil trip report on the SMokies! We are leaving Wednesday nite about Midnight, so maybe that's technically Thursday morning.

Now some not so good news. My son, Jarrott, has, AGAIN, decided that he doesn't want to go to Disney. Been there, done that, he says. However, we are planning this trip with his Nanny and her hubby and new baby, who are fellow Disney freaks. My gut says just take him, he'll love it when we get there, my head (and attitude) says if we take him and he's negative nancy, and I spent all that money, I may have to lock him in a closet. Sigh. :confused3

Get that Disney parks video and start watching it, get the Disney for Kids book and leave it lying around prominently, and watch a Disney movie of some kind every weekend (Indiana Jones, Star Wars, etc. too). Get others to talk about different things they love about WDW when he is around, talk about the Kim Commando quests, etc. Maybe if you put forth enough propaganda, by the time for the trip he will be up for it.
BTW, Southwest has flights for $123 one way for September, which is as far out as they are booking right now, so don't give up on the flights. They have some $111 for May, and that isn't even a huge special like they sometimes run.

Check SW a lot. I have hear some people getting 67 each way for Sept, and 1/2 later the price went up.

I'm sad to see your TR come to an end, but how exciting that you've already got another trip in the works.

I would personally love to see a mini TR of your Smoky Mountain visit and am looking forward to your next TR:goodvibes

Ugh, sorry to hear this. I wouldn't have a clue what to do either...just hope he changes his mind so it's easier!

Have a wonderful trip...you leave in just a few hours! :goodvibes

Welll.... SOme good news and some not so good news...

The Good: I got another pin code starting on 12/11, so this Friday I'm getting my tax money and booking our December trip! AND.... the kiddo says if Disney makes momma happy, he'll be happy too... :lmao: He's my 20 year old in a 10 year old body...

The Not So Good:I took my camera to TN, but left the battery and charger plugged in my bedroom. :confused3 .. It was a nice trip, tho short, and boy was it warm over there! We only wore our jackets one night, and the morning we left, it was 37 degrees. We saw the Tennessee Shindig, was an excellent show, I recommend it to anyone, the Elvis impersonator was was hotter than real Elvis. :thumbsup2

YOu guys have been so great.. Thanks for all the tips and advice and feedback on my trip... Guess one day I'll have to start a new PTR!

Hugs and Pixie Dust! :wizard:

Ang,

Happy to hear you guys had a good trip to TN; I can sympathize on the short feeling, seems all trips are too short these days.

I'm also happy to hear that your son has changed! he will be happy once he is there that he changed his mind. Just need to be sure to make it all about him. At ten I bet he would love Disney Quest! (just a thought).

:yay: party: on the pin party: :yay:
PM me when you start your PTR so I can join in the fun!

 Connie

:yay: on your DS changing his mind!!!! A perfect use of a tax return, IMO!

Sorry to hear about the charger being left behind, that is a pain. :headache:

 for getting a pin code. You know I've never received one in all of my years of going to Disney? :sad2: I guess they know I'm coming back even if I don't get one.

Yay for your kiddo deciding to come along. :cheer2:

Call the hotel. They should be able to sent it back to you.
