Are we the only ones who don't make a grocery stop on our way to our resort?

NotUrsula,

Can you please tell me more about Albertson's Fax service? It sounds intriguing. Is there a website?

Thank you.

Last time we drove- so we had our van for me to make stops at the store if I needed to (we stayed in a rental house and did cook some meals there as well as grabbed a quick breakfast there and brought snacks for the little ones). I have 3 young children that are "grazers"- it costs a LOT to buy constantly for them all day long and have them eat only half of it. I'd rather buy snacks cheap & take them with me for them to eat on when they are hungry and save money to do other things with it- like character meals/etc. :)

However, this time we are flying. I have not figured out yet for sure which towncar service we will be using... I'm leaning that way instead of renting a larger vehicle for our stay though. It would HAVE to be with a grocery stop- but I have a question.... do you still get the grocery shop when you are arriving at 11pm at night? And if so, WHAT grocery store is open that late? Is Publix open that late or 24hrs or what?
Please let me know! We really need to do this stop. We will have breakfast in our rooms (when we don't have character breakfast planned or don't feel like eating at the resort that morning) plus need snacks for ALL of us... as DH & I are lowcarbers and can't eat all the "snacky" foods they have in the parks. Plus we drink TONS of water- and by that I don't mean 2-4 bottles a day... try that times 4 or 5 TIMES each (me and DH I mean- kids don't drink quite that much water LOL)

But now I'm worried we won't be able to do it that late?

We like the early morning breakfast in the room, too. It saves a lot of time. DH usually gets up and goes to get my coffee while I shower and start getting ready. By the time we get up and get the kids going, stopping for breakfast is one more thing we have to do that slows us in starting the day. We like to start kind of early at the parks and then head back for a swim as the parks are really filling up. The in-room breakfast not only saves money, but also a little bit of time. Not that we rush around all the time, but it's nice to take your time and get out of the room with a bit of food and energy in the system to start the day.

Have a terrific September trip.

Madi100, I can relate to the bologna sandwiches!!! Everywhere we went when we were kids that was the "packed lunch". Money was always a huge concern and even if if wasn't I think we would have had bologna sandwiches. We always rent a car while at WDW so that we can travel freely while there. The first day we usually go to Goodings ( I know its expensive but its the closest) and get our coffee cream, wine, a couple of snacks for the room and a box of Krisy Kreme donuts (Not available on Cape Cod yet!!). Our last trip we shipped water....big Poland Springs drinkers and it is not available in Florida. I know it is crazy but it was still cheaper than the $2.50 a bottle in the parks and we Love it. We shipped 48 sport bottles and will probably do it again for our trip next spring. Having the car alllows us to get right to the World and then go to the store for our incidentals after we have settled in a bit.

We are DVC members and usually have breakfast in the room. We go from the airport to the resort and then go out later to get groceries (we always get a rental car). We get frozen waffles, bagels, orange juice, ice cream, snacks, pop/soda, water. We've used the new Winn-Dixie near Crossroads on the last few trips. Much better prices than Goodings, about a mile down the road.
