Are we only DREAMing of our vacation cruise???

I think the harder I try to save up vacation time, the more I have to use! Last week I stayed home a couple days with sick kids and now I have to stay home all week after a laprascopic surgery for an ectopic pregnancy! I at least should be all healed up by the time we leave on January 10th!

How far are you driving? We had a portable dvd player and that helps travelling time go by

I did not get my gifts made, since I haven't had time this past week. I had a couple different ideas, one of them was to make each cabin a set of coasters.

My Dad ended up in the hospital, his melanoma has spread to his brain. We were planning to do radiation, which would give him an extra few hopefully good months, but can not get rid of it completely. Yesterday after weighing out the pros and cons he decided he did not want to go through radiation, which means he will probably only have weeks left with us.

I will be calling today to cancel my cruise with plans to re-book later in the spring and hopefully take my Mom along also. I think it will be good for her to get away and get a vacation by that time.

One of the things that always brings me comfort when I think about my loved ones dying is the book, "Heaven is for Real." My favorite chapter is when the little boy meets his sister in heaven, the one that his mother miscarried early in her pregnancy. My Mom had an early miscarriage once and I really believe my Dad already has a child in Heaven waiting to greet him as well as a grandchild after my recent pregnancy loss.

I'm not sure it was near as hard on him as it was the rest of us. He's been having pain for a long time and he just doesn't want to be in pain anymore. My Mom really struggled with the decision since my Dad's mental status had declined over the last few days. She was worried everyone would think she was just giving up on him, but even with treatment he would only have a few more months. His oncologist really made her feel better, he said if it was his brother he would do the same thing and that he has been lucky to have her amazing care through everything because she has done such a good job taking care of him.

We helped Dad to his recliner at home last night and it was obvious that he was relieved to finally be back in his own home. Hospice will be coming in today to see him.

My Father passed away last Monday, I'm relieved to no longer have to see him in pain. I'm back to work today and now more ready than ever for a vacation! Anyone know if it's possible to change the title of my thread???

I'm awaiting a check from the allianz insurance before I can reschedule our crusie. We are hoping to book the March 3rd 4 night trip on the dream out of Port Canaveral. This is about the only week that works with my schedule over the next few months and it actually isn't even the most convenient. I will be flying back to Kansas City from Dallas on the 28th, where DH will pick me up to drive to Florida!

I did invite my Mother to come with us, but she wasn't quite ready for that yet, especially with my 17 y/o sister at home.

Got confirmation that my travel insurance checks are on their way, so we booked the March 3rd cruise out of Port Canaveral So it's less than 30 days until we leave! I was able to book the same port adventures, dolphin encounter and snorkeling.

I'm going to be on a business trip in Texas Feb 25-28th, so when I get off the plane in Kansas City on Feb 28th DH will be there with the kids to pick me up and head to Florida! It makes me nervous that I'm going to have to rely on him to make sure all the bags I'll have prepacked end up in the van. I would load the van up ahead of time, but we are taking one we are borrowing a van from his Mom's dealership! I guess it might be easier for him to make sure he gets it all if I put it in the back of the van and he just has to transfer to another van.

I've already packed the kids bag for the ship, just need to get their bags packed for the road trip

I just booked March 7th at Pop Century with 1 day passes to Disney World! I considered getting the park hopper, but since we will only have 1 day at Disney I think just going to Magic Kingdom will be plenty!
