Are we "nerds"???????????

Been there! I save the bags we buy Disney items in when we are in the world. I don't know what for since I dont really reuse them and eventually get rid of them but for some reason I have to save them when we return from a trip.

Hi! I am Mom to a Princess and I am an offical Disney Dork. I am proudly passing the tradition on to my daughter(5). She gets very upset when there is not a mickey soap in the bathroom to wash our hands with. She'll come running out of the bathroom and tell me it's time to go again! :rotfl2:

Count me in as another Disney Dork. Not only did I keep all my receipts from our last trip. I also kept our boarding pass electronic tickets, parking receipts, and countdown calendar. For this next trip, I have made a planning diary that I have included all my emails between my travel agent and myself. I have to hide all of this stuff from my husband. He thinks it's obsessive and not behavior of a sane person. Oh, well, if that what he thinks is crazy, then stick me in the Disney Looney Bin.
I do the same. I have every receipt from every vacation we have ever taken! When we buy something, for some strange reason we take a lot of photos of the actual transaction at the register. (I've noticed that CMs tend to smile more than usual when the camera is pointed their way...LOL) The receipts, and any other pertinent peice of paper, gets put on the page with the pic of the item. I save the cool Disney bags, add a ribbon bow, and use them as gift bags for Disney merchandise to the DGKs! My DD (the psychologist) assures me that I am indeed obsessive! But hey, do I care? Nadda - stuff like this is what I like to do!

Count me in! :cool1: I was cleaning this weekend and came across little plastic bags, napkins, expired park tickets, airline tickets, maps etc. from our tirp in 1997! I must have spent at least a half hour re living the trip and then I put them back right where I found them! :teeth:

No way are you nerds. I read the DIS boards almost every day, and I am always planning for our next trip. It's one of my favorite hobbies! Disney makes us smile, and smiling is good! :teeth:

disney is soup for the soul :goodvibes

never have a I "been around" other folks that actually smile when they see a receipt or a Disney bag. Life is good with WDW. It's like a life long lover I can't live without.

<raises hand high> Nerd Here!

I geek-out when it comes to all things Disney. Have saved receipts, room keys, tickets, bags, napkins, cups, soaps...the list could go on. I get so much joy looking at all of our stuff. The other week I was poking around in our storage area and found two bags-stapled with resort pick-up receipt-that had fun items in from our trip a year ago!!! I cannot believe I overlooked two bags full of Disney goodness. :rotfl:

Has anyone mentioned that they save their resort parking permit or those little plastic skewers you get when you order a cocktail with fruit in it? :guilty:

You nailed it in your post.

You're not nerds.

You're dorks.

But that's okay. We all are! ;)

Me, me, I do that! For the kids' scrapbooks, I save everything and anything left over gets stored. Can't make myself throw it away and makes me feel good to know its there! I still have my backscratcher from 'Ohanas sitting on my dresser. Oh, for a real pick-me-up, I wear my special Tinkerbell earrings accompanied by Winnie the Pooh sunglasses!

(And yes, I keep all of the soaps, lotions, and shampoos left by the mousekeepers. To not save them just seems insulting!)

Had to laugh when I saw the title of this thread . . . my family (including dh) has long called me a "Disney Dork!"

I'm proud of the nickname . . . I think I've earned it researching all our past trips and helping to make them as special as I could!

Oh good...now I don't feel quite so dorky :grouphug: ...you should see the pile of stuff I have in a bag!
Park maps, soaps, Bags things I bought came in (love the little ones), fast passes I didn't use, receipts, the works.
Every time I am planning a trip I dig through it to get myself PREPARED! :sunny:

This is TOO FUNNY!!!!
Just a day or so ago, I was going through my camera bag and found a receipt from Haagen-Dazs at DTD, and it's sitting here on my desk right in front of me! Those milkshakes were $6.89 each!!! I got kind of excited and wanted to watch my videos from our vacation. I even found some change and some medicine that had been to Disney and thought that was cool!!!

I'm a DORK!!! But, aint it great!!!

OMG Turnlisa I forgot about the backscratcher from Ohana :) I've had mine for at least ten years and I must admit...it still works :teeth:

BTW Y'all aren't dorks, you're my peeps:earsboy:

Another dork here!

We kept everything from our trip. I even framed a Mickey Mouse napkin. The other day I came across the reciept from the stroller rental and I got all sentimental. Instead of throwing it out, I put in a safe place.

I wish my husband were more like the OP. He does not join me on Disney Memory Lane. He thinks I am nuts, he doesn't get it. I am raising my kids right, though. They get just as mushy as I do whenever we are reminded of Disney.

I am such a Disney "dork" that I can't bring myself to throw out those plastic bags. I must have a dozen of them in all sizes. They are just too cute to get rid of.

As I am reading your post - I couldn't help but laugh. DH pulled out a disney bag and I scolded him and told him to put it back "you can't use that!!!!" I yelled at him. Guess I am a dork too!!!!! :rotfl2:

and I am a Disney Dork!!!

I have all our receipts from last fall sitting in (what else?) a Disney bag on my dresser in my room. Its the first thing I see each day!! I sometimes leaf through them and think about how much fun our trip was. Yes I have a grocery bag cupboard and it is half full of Disney bags that I cannot bring myself to use . I have room cards lying around the house still, soaps and shampoos all over the bathrooms and towel animals lining the bathroom shelf!! In the kitchen sits our 2 kids Mickey plates (the ones that kids meals come in), the kids Have to eat off those! We have Disney napkins still from our trip in 94! :lmao: Pretty much any room you walk into we are reminded of Disney!!! :thumbsup2 Even though my DH is as addicted as me I'll admit that he thinks I'm a little weird for having to check the Dining Board everyday for new pics of Disney food!! :lmao: Of course HE has to be the one that calls Disney to make reservations or ADR's because he gets all giddy (like a little kid) when he is talking to them!!
So in conclusion....We too are Dorks and darn proud of it!!! :cheer2:

Well I'd just like to say if you don't think about Disney at least (AT LEAST) once a day you're completely insane. Actually Disney is my every other thought, everything relates to Disney one way or another. Am I right?
Oh and does anyone every get really random cravings to ride things, see attractions, eat food, ect. like I do everyday or so? I hope I'm not the only one.
So really we are dorks but definietly in a good way. And hey this comes from one of the biggest "Disney Dorks" in this place. Umm... some nicknames from my family: "Disney Snob", "Disney Freak" and "Disney Brainiac". And it comes from someone who saves everything! I mean it - fast passes, napkins, bags everything amaginable.
So pleases, we're abviously the best dorks out there!!!!! :cool1:  :cheer2:

We can form a new group. We're the Disney Nerd Herd!!!!!!! :cool1: :rotfl2:

I guess I'm a nerd, too. I've just spent all my free time in the last week painstakingly cutting out all kinds of graphics, etc. from all our Disney trip brochures, etc. for our latest scrapbook. My family got all mushy just looking at that yellow ME tag that says SSR and, especially, our old "keys to the world." There's nothing like a Disney vacation! :grouphug: :simba: :goofy: :maleficen :donald: :mickeyjum :dumbo:
