Are we lame?

You are so NOT lame!! I want to do the same thing for my anniversary in October, though I'm afraid I'd feel pangs of guilt for going without dd12, but you know what? I'll get over it. Go, have fun, be romantic and then come back and tell us how it went!!

Well, I guess you can count me in as lame! For the last 3 years I've been to DL (convenient to where we live) 4 times, but never to WDW. So for our 20th Anniverary, DH and I booked AKL next month, then I booked a 60th B-day trip for my mom at DL in Dec and currently planning a trip for DH, DS, and DD in Feb 08! They were mad the did'nt get invited on the anniversary trip! I appeased my DD by telling her she had to be 16 to do the Safari tour she want's to badly to do! Bonus is we need to be there for business, so write that baby off!!!!

My parents booked themselves last year for their anniversary. They now are saying they'll probably do it again next year. Having not gone sans kids in over 20 years, my mother said it was the nicest and most relaxing trip ever.

It also helped that I was the evil daughter. :scared: When they had me put the package on the credit card, I made a note that they were going down for their anniversary. Well the pixie dust was at work and they got upgraded to a BW Garden Cottage.

Okay DISers give my your honest opinion...we just came back from 5 days in the World with our kids. We didn't go commando and based alot of what we did off the kids / naps / meals, etc. which means we didn't get to do as much of the 'adult' attractions as we would've liked.

We honeymooned in Disney 10 years ago and are considering going back in 4 months to celebrate and do all the things we missed. The money would be tight, but due to the free dining it would be comparable to the other option we were tossing around but would we be incredibly lame to go back again this soon for our anniversary?? What would you do?

Why would this be lame at all, why not go an enjoy yourselves....

We honeymooned at WDW in 1975, when all that was there was the MK and River Country. People thought we were crazy. Now it is the Wedding capitol of the world. We have taken the kids multiple times since, and went by ourselves for our 25th anniversary. Last sons gradutaion trip next month, and then we are free to go as much as we want!!! Have a GREAT TRIP!!!

GO! I am doing the same thing and My DH and I can't wait! We went in Feb with the kids (DS 5 DD 2) and like you, we missed a lot of what we had enjoyed in the past. So we booked a week in Sept for just the 2 of us to celebrate our anniversary (Sept 18th) and we CAN'T wait. I felt guilty at first at the thought of going sans kids. But then the images of peaceful dinners and ample shopping filled my mind and I was sold! So DO IT with no regrets!

Why would you care if a bunch of strangers on a message board think you are lame? You don't need to justify your trip to anyone....much less on a board like this.

we just took the kids April 1-8, and dh and I decided and just booked BWI for our 10th anniversary June 28-July 1 (just the 2 of us). We are both so excited and can't wait!

I'm also dreaming of dinners where I'm not scarfing down my food, or not getting to eat at all because I was entertaining my DD. And we didn't even make it to Downtown Disney in April so I'm really looking forward to "leisurely" shopping!

You should try to make it to Pleasure Island and hit the clubs. If that's your sorta thing, I don't know. But it's pretty fun there. Even just to walk around there. Or maybe take a stroll at night around the Boardwalk. Most nights that have entertainers. Plus it's nice and relaxing to take a stroll around at night. Or sit at Epcot after Illuminations and listen to the music.

So what places are thinking of/have planned to dine at?

I'm glad you decided to be "lame" and go back. :cool1:

We will be hitting Pleasure Island big time! Also we LOVE the dueling piano bar on the boardwalk, it's our favorite!!

Quick update from the lame ones....We are both so completely excited to be going back to a place we love. We enjoyed it with our children last month but so looking forward to enjoying it adult style!!

I have booked the following ADR's so far:

8/30 (our anniversary day) - Coral Reef for lunch
8/30 Spoodles for dinner (going to try for an Illuminations cruise this night...shhh don't tell the DH! :goodvibes

8/31 Plaza Restaurant for dinner

9/1 - Shutters for dinner

9/2 - Nothing yet but trying to get FDP at Mama Melrose (just don't want to eat dinner at 4:30!)

We'll eat at ESPN club at least once so this should cover our TS meals. Still deciding on CS places to eat.

Adult Disney is something I haven't experienced either. Every year I take the kids and my mother which is really fun, don't get me wrong.
My BF and I are in the Navy and have been apart for the past year due to operational assignments and are finally back together!!!!!! The kids are doing a Disney Cruise without me :( so I don't feel too bad about going without them. I have dreamed of "Adult Disney" for some long.........
We were planning a Vegas trip(we are from San Diego) and I convinced the BF that we could go to Disney for cheaper. We like to go to shows and do expensive dinners....so once I started talking about FREE DINING and showing him the menus, he was sold. I got him hooked on this website becuase this is his first trip to WDW sicne he was 5 yrs old. I can't wait to also see him experience Disney for the basically the first time. He doesn't remember much except that was scared of Pirates of the Caribbean...lol
It will be such a difference experience dining at JIKO, Narcoosees, Coral Reef, and sampling different cocktails that look delicious! I don't have much of a tolerance so I will havce to pace myself!

Enjoy your trip.....we are so excited and can't wait until SEPTEMBER!!!!
