Okay DISers give my your honest opinion...we just came back from 5 days in the World with our kids. We didn't go commando and based alot of what we did off the kids / naps / meals, etc. which means we didn't get to do as much of the 'adult' attractions as we would've liked.

We honeymooned in Disney 10 years ago and are considering going back in 4 months to celebrate and do all the things we missed. The money would be tight, but due to the free dining it would be comparable to the other option we were tossing around but would we be incredibly lame to go back again this soon for our anniversary?? What would you do?

The wife and I had no thoughts about going back so soon after just visiting during LAST years free dining. Then they announced yet another year of free dining, so back we go :rolleyes1

With the free dining thing, it's almost seperate from a regular Disney visit in our eyes; The truth is, if they sent us to a random street in the middle of Utah and said 'Ok, your vacation is to eat at good restauants for free all week', we'd be just as content (no disrespect intended to any utahians.. or however its orated). Consider the rides a bonus ;)

With Awe,
Chris

Go! and don't think twice about it. The free dining makes it almost as cheap as to go anywhere else and it's always a MUCH better experience than most places. My DH and I are planning an adults only trip in September. We definitely think it is worth the money, and I think the experience will be completely different without the kids. Some well earned time alone together! Have a great time!

We're going back for our 10th in July for 4 days sans children and then again with children and my parents. We went last July and in March we became DVCers so we'll be using an AP with the discounts for our 2 trips.
We'll have gone 3 times in 18 months!!!!!
You're definitely not LAME! We'd go twice a year if we could every year. Hopefully with my upcoming career change that might be possible:banana: .

Yes, GO! When you're bit by the bug, there's no stopping it! :rotfl:

Go and enjoy your spouse at the most magical place on earth!

(We are going for our 10 year in Oct, Yeah!)

boy you are asking the wrong person.

went for 2 weeks in March, going next week, then in October, then in November.

maybe Sept!!!

I say go too! We were in the same boat as yall. We were there in March with the family and just decided to go back in Sept. with the free dining. Our 9 year anniversary is in October but we'll celebrate when we go. We still feel kind of guilty for leaving the kids at home (because if they knew what we were doing the would pitch a royal fit!!!-there isn't a day that goes by that one of them don't ask when are we going back!!:scared1: ) I told my husband that were not just parent but a couple to and we should do things on our own too:goodvibes . Our trip will be short (Sept. 5-8) and were staying in a value resort so it not that much!! so hopefully well be able to go back in the spring with the kids (and since next year is our 10th year anniversary well have to go back in the fall:lmao: -- at least thats how i'll explain it to my Dh:idea:

Thanks everybody! I feel much better (and not so lame now!)
Even my MIL thought we were a little weird, but I know that everyone here 'gets Disney'. It's not for everyone but we love it!! We've never done the DDP, so if we go that will be a new experience. Guess I better start crunching the budget to see if we can make this happen!

Thanks again, I knew I could count on all of you :goodvibes

You're asking on the Disney boards whether you should go to Disney World?

Well let me be the first to say, stay home!!

Not!

A visit without your kids will be a totally different vacation and will so recharge your batteries. Go for it!

BobK, you make a good point! I had to chuckle at that one! :rotfl:

I'm still going back and forth because we'd have at the most 4 full days (probably only 3) and I'd really like to do a full week the next time we go back - so we're not rushed and can really do everything we want. Now if Disney were to say, offer me up a nice Pin code or something that might seal the deal

Just booked our 10th Anniversary trip for Aug / Sept at Carribean Beach:cool1:

Do you want to go? Then GO!!! It's not lame if you'll have a great time, is it?!:goodvibes

Hooray!! Have a great time!!!! Think of all the adult-type restaurants you'll be able to enjoy.:cheer2:

If you're on the DDP, and you want a nice adult-type dinner go to Nacrossee's at the GF! This and Le Cellier are our favorite restaurants. Especially Nacrossee's at night during Wishes. They play the music! Now Nacrossee's cost 2 dining points. But DW and I have done it with just using 1 person's 2 points. We'd order app, entree and dessert with 1 person's 2 points, then pay out of pocket for an extra app and we were more than satisfied. Especially getting the lobster and steak. That's very filing! And the waiter never made feel like we were cheap-skates (which DW feared). He even told us that if we didn't order dessert, our 2 apps and entree would be covered by the 2 points, which I thought was a fair deal. But you gotta have dessert! Okay sorry for the long explanation.

Have a great trip!!

Never toooo much Disney. Last year I went in February for Mardi Gras and then again in April for Easter.....then at Thanksgiving. I drive all the way from New Orleans.....I would go right now if I could. Enjoy yourselves and Happy Anniversary.

Hey I feel your pain.

I too went on my anniversary 15 years ago. It was my wife's first time. I am always having to defend my love (some may call it an obessesion) with my Disney Vactions. I have been several times since then.

Most of my friends and even some family just don't get it. I love the way it makes me feel. I have been to many other places and when I'm there, I forget about my worries and enjoy it so much.

So, if you guys like it as much as I do, then go for it. Enjoy what you like and don't worry what others think.

The people who don't get Disney say things like, why do you want to go again, weren't you there last year, or if you have been there once, you have already seen it, why are you going again. There are two types of people when it comes to this Magical ones and Non-Magical ones. I'm Magical and glad I am.
