are we going to be going to north korea next?

Don't know. I avoid CNN every chance I get.

Probably not. N Korea can most likely be handled diplomatically as in the past, plus China doesn't want that kind of aggravation in thier own back yard so will likely work with us to avoid an Iraq type scenario.

Don't watch CNN. Our son's military leaders told us to watch Fox News if we want to know what's honestly happening. ..and that's what we do.

ok, you guys are scaring me. if you even READ the article, i have no idea why you would be calling cnn all these names. it is not a boased article at all, and i think you could find the same on your beloved fox news.

Not calling CNN names.

We were told my the United States Marine Corp that we will learn the most unbiased news reports from Fox News and due to those instructions, that's what we watch.

There must be some reason that it's the Number 1 News Program in the country.

As for the news story you posted in another link (regarding the innocent civilians killed in a bombing), yes it's terrible. But I don't see you posting links to stories in regards to our soldiers who have been tricked by white flag waving Iraqi citizens and then ambushed and murdered....or our soldiers who offered to help another citizen, only to be blown up by the suicide bomber.

I don't see you posting links to the story of the soldier's bodies found dismembered in shallow graves.

Yes, there are innocents in the path of this war - but there are also many here who have no respect for human life at all - their own people or ours. I don't think that can be said for the coalition forces.

Of course my view of CNN is personal, and you are welcome to get your information from any source you wish. However, IMHO, CNN paints they entire situation in a negative tone. It all gloom, doom, and we (US) does everything wrong! Wrong battle plan, wrong leaders, we are getting ripped apart by paramilitary, morale is low, etc.

Think about the effect of this. At home: nervous friends and relatives watch this garbage and become more nervous and upset. Yes, we need to know the truth, but not with the slant they put on it. Military: Front line troops may not see this, but those on ships and in the back see it. How do you think they feel about support from home? Enemy: They see this too! A negative slant from CNN will make them more determined, more willing to die! Those Iraqi civilians will continue to have doubts and not support us.

Remember, War is fought on many fronts, at home, on the airwaves, in the mind, etc. WE ALL MUST FIGHT IT TOGETHER! You may not agree with this war, but please remember our young people are dying in Iraq. SAVE THE SLANT FOR AFTER ITS OVER! If you think President Bush is nuts for doing this, vote him out. But now is not the time to play politics with lives on the line.

Sorry about the ranting. I am not trying to wave a flag in front of your faces, I am trying to say we ALL must think battles tactics and strategy in order to save lives of our troops! If this country shows common resolve, the enemy will also see this. Pray now, Debate later.

But I don't see you posting links to stories in regards to our soldiers who have been tricked by white flag waving Iraqi citizens and then ambushed and murdered....or our soldiers who offered to help another citizen, only to be blown up by the suicide bomber.

that's b/c those stories were already posted here.

if you have an issue with my other post, post about it there. THIS post is about north korea. your comments about soldiers really have no relevance n this thread. thanks in advance for staying on topic. :)

to repeat the question i asked for thos who have forgotten -- what do you think about the situation in korea. they are refusing nuclear inspections. do you think we will declare war on them next?

hmmm...seems like I wasn't the only one hear posting "off topic". I realized that after I had hit the submit button - after reading both of your posts. I should have know I'd get my hands slapped for that.

As for this post....I didn't do any CNN name calling.

I will now go and leave my response in the correct post. :D

I would assume that if Korea flies jets into our buildings and monuments, killing THOUSANDS of innocent people, then yes, we would be going into Korea next, or if we thought Korea was funding and supporting terrorist acts against our country.

I must also apologize for going off on the wrong tangent. My point is that I don't trust what the media says. They may be painting a negative picture with this issue as well. I have a "hunch" that china will step in diplomatically before war happens. They do not want or need N. Korean refugees or a US prescence that close to their border. No facts to back this up, just a hunch.

Invading NK ain't gonna happen unless a lot changes on the political landscape. NK has a 1,000,000+ man army that's armed to the teeth. Their military budget is one of the largest in the WORLD! They wouldn't sit by a wait as we took 6 months to build up an adequate invasion force in South Korea just over their border like Iraq, due to their situation, had to. The NK army would pour south so fast it'd make your head spin.

The NK army would pour south so fast it'd make your head spin.

And the number of troops we have there right now (two Brigades of 2nd Infantry Div, plus support units) would only amount to a speed bump :(

No we will not. At least not the same way.

That man is more disturbed than Saddam and probably has nuclear weapons or will soon.

Bush will have no choice but to stick with strong diplomatic negotiations.
