considered a snack or Counter service?? I was thinking that they would be considered a counter service meal but I not so sure.

On the former DDP, DH got turkey leg, bag of chips and soda for one CS credit. The turkey legs along are not considered snacks, although it would be cool if they were. The snack list shortened drastically this year so I'm sure they're not included.

Not sure but boy are they good!!

He looks so happy with that (as I would be).

My sister's SIL made the comment to my sister"and there were all these people walking around eating turkey legs. It was so gross."

I would love to tell her to get her butt out of snobville for once and just try one.

Actually, they are not turkey legs. They are Emu legs. Turkeys don't grow that size. They are advertised as turkey as most people don't like emu.

ok...but in my narrow little mind I will keep telling myself that they are Turkey legs, just very big WDW turkey legs!!

Rest easy, Puccaw. An average sized emu leg weighs 7 pounds (the bird is around 5 ft. tall) and the average wholesale price for even ground emu is $3/pound. Disney's certainly not going to take a $15 loss just to serve a massive drumstick. Also, emu is red meat. The turkey legs Disney sells are about 1.5 pound and probably come from an old tom turkey. A tom can grow to 40 pounds or more in 20 weeks.

I wish that would settle the question, but logic is nothing compared to internet rumor. ;)

That was all that I needed to hear!!! I was just wondering what they would do with the rest of the Emu??? I wouldn't think that there would be that large of a calling for it.

Everytime we go to DLand, the only souvenirs my dad wants are his 3 TURKEY LEGS!!! If I could order them online, that would have made one heck of a STOCKING STUFFER!!:santa: Could you image wrapping that Valentine!! This year he will get one as a late Father's Day gift!!:cool2:
