I will be going to and from MCO and Walt Disney and I know there are two tolls to be paid. It's been three years since I have been there and I don't want to pay the rental sun pass as you have to get it for the whole trip and I just need those two times. My question: do the toll booths between MCO and Disney still accept cash? Are they manned or do you need exact change? I assume there still is no toll between DIsney and Universal on I-4?
All mainline tolls are manned. If you take the north airport exit to 528 & I-4, all tolls are attended.
If you take the south exit to 417, all tolls are manned if you take the Epcot/International Drive exit. If you stay on 417 to the Osceola Pkwy exit, which is signed for MK/DHS/AK, there is an unmanned exit toll which requires exact change of $1.
Can I add a question to this... 2 years ago I ran into a hwy feom Disney area to the Florida Mall that was cashless. Surpass only I believe. Are there others around or a bunch of quarters onto still get around.
If you took 417 to the Turnpike northbound, that ramp has a cashless toll. It's not the most direct route, but perhaps Google sent you that way due to a backup on I-4.
The only other cashless toll I can think of on the south side of Orlando is a shortcut exit from the southbound Turnpike to Consulate Drive, which may be signed for Florida Mall. The main 528/Orange Blossom Trail exit, which takes cash and I think has manned booths, is just a mile further down the road.
There are express lanes under construction on much of 528 between MCO and I-4, which could open as soon as this autumn. Those lanes will be cashless, but the regular lanes will still be available with fully manned booths.
