I am specifically interested in knowing if AP's are increasing in 2005. Thanks!

Can you renew APs evenif you are only 1/2 way through the year? Before they increase?

Not under any normal circumstances I'm aware of. Sorry.

Does this mean that Park Hoppers will also increase?

Thanks!

If UPH's are going up (and they are in 2005), you can bet that the tickets that Disney sells the most of - PH's and PHP's - will soon follow.

This may be a dumb question, but can I lock in the 2004 uph price by buying them now for our May 05 trip? I know we can buy the ph passes now. Just wondering about the uph?

Not a dumb question at all.

The answer is yes. If you add them to your reservation and pay for your UPH's now, you will lock in the current price.

Thank you Golden Oldie! I will definately get by the DS before year end.

I'm not sure where the poster got their info on the UPH prices going up, but there has not been any official announcement of this.

I think it is just speculation. Disney does not raise ticket prices every year (although there have been a few different increases over the last 2 years.)

They just raised prices this past winter so I would be very surprised to see them go up again in January.

There's never any official announcement of it until two or three days before it happens when it appears on WDTC's computer screens or TDS gets a new price list. But those increases didn't just happen. They were planned months in advance of when they were implemented.

Actually you are wrong. Disney has raised prices every year in the past decade. Since this time a decade ago, there have been 15 price increases in the 10 year span. Not all tickets went up at the same time which resulted in more than one instance of prices going up in some years.

UPH's alone in the past three years have gone up three times with less than a year separating the increases. They went up in September 2002, June 2003 (when the advance purchase prices were introduced and became the prior 2002 price under the single price structure and the new higher gate price category was introduced), and February 2004. Now I could be wrong but my math says September 2002 to June 2003 is less than a year and June 2003 to February 2004 is less than a year.

Perhaps you would but I'll stand by my sources and what I said and let time tell which of us was right.

I believe most ticket prices went up in March 2004, so I would count on ticket prices going up sometime in the first 3-4 months of 2005.

this may be a dumb question, but here goes...

we have two days leftover from our last trip (compliments of hurricane frances) and probably will not go back for another two or three years (months if i had my way, but i don't! LOL!) but when we do go back, we'll need 4 or 5 day PHPs... if i have some extra cash now, would it make sense to buy 'em while i am thinking of them and have the money, and then use them when we go in '06 or '07, assuming they will be more costly in the future?

Gigi--I have thought of doing the same thing. I'm actually annoyed with myself that I didn't do it before prices went up last winter, but I wasn't planning on returning again so soon. My only hesitation to buying the passes is that we might not go back again, seems highly unlikely but you never know. With my Disney Visa and rewards I might be able to buy some sort of package that includes the UPH then my hopper tickets would be a waste.

I say if you know for sure you are going again and will use hopper tickets, buy them now. I'm sure by 2007 the prices will surely be higher and even if they are not, you haven't lost any money.

GoldenOldie,
I appreciate your thoughts on this, but APs have not increased in price <b>every single year</b>, nor have the regular park hopper passes EVERY year. Having been a cast member for over 5 years selling the park hopper passes, I can honestly say that Disney did NOT increase the price of these passes each and every year, although there have been numerous increases in the past few years in several of the different pass options, including adding the pre-purchase pricing difference, and the increase in FL taxes.
The OP here is asking if APs are going up in price in 2005, and I still say that there is no way to know this for sure at this time. Is it possible--yes, it is always possible. Is it a sure thing, no it is not. I think that telling someone "yes" they are going up for sure is inaccurate at this time. It is only speculation that they will be raised. I stand by my post that it is still too soon to say for sure if Disney will be increasing the prices of the AP in 2005, and how soon it will be done.

Sherry, you just gave me a great idea! i will use my disney reward dollars to buy ph's at a disney store whenever i have enough accumulated... that way i will not be 'spending' a dime and may lock 'em in at a lower rate and like you said, if not, i certainly will not have lost anything! thanks!!!

I'm the OPer and even "speculation" is enough to make me get in to the DS soon to get our AP's. When you are buying 5 any amount of savings helps so I hope to beat the price increase whenever it may come!

And if the price DOESN'T go up, you still haven't lost anything! :wave2:
