Are they gonna mess with the Castle...

The turrets are being painted dark blue. I am at the World, you can tell.

There was a huge crane up this morning. Really distracting, it was right at the top turrent.

They lowering at about 2 hours after opening though.

I am bummed to hear they have the crane up and working during operating hours. We have CRT breakfast for this Saturday- and I was hoping that I could get a pic. of all my little nieces in front of the castle (their 1st time seeing the castle). So am I understanding this- they have the crane in plain view in the am? If so- That stinks!

The crane was gone on Friday 9/22 for the MNSSHP- It was there earlier in the week, but they moved it.

THIS WAS TUESDAY 9/19-

We did the Segway tour and the CM told us they are doing a lot of work inside the Castle to get ready for people to STAY in it when they win the contest!

There was constrution though- right outside of the back of the castle- where you check in for the CRT meals. they had some big wooded baracades up.

Actually it seems like they were doing work in a lot of areas of the world this time we were there.

I'm also in favor of keeping the castle "naked". We've not been there when it's been decorated and am glad when I see the pics.
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a "naked" December.

Okay, I have to agree that the birthday cake was an abomination. It was like pink puke. It made me so sad to look at it. On the other hand, I though the gold and the stained glass window were really pretty. I thought the castle really looked completed with all of the golden characters around it. It was really beautiful. The magic of Disney turns me 5 years old each time I go and there was wonder and awe in finding the different characters all around the castle. I experienced my children's joy in seeing them there, too. I really love the castle (as evidenced by the tons of pictures I take of it from every angle on each trip ) but there was something really special about the golden characters.

The crane is supposed to be there for several months. It may be lowered when you go. When it is down you can hardly see it behind the trees on the right hand side of the castle.

You know, I keep thinking Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney, Naked Castle...it just doen't fit. Maybe we should be calling it "unadorned castle" to be a little more wholesome?

BTW, someone said the spires have clouds painted on them, but I don't see them in the photos posted by maddhatir.

You know in the south there are two versions of not wearing any clothes:
1) Pronounced Naked, where you are caught with no clothes on;
2) Pronounced Nekid, where you are caught with no clothes on and up to something!

So it's confirmed, the castle will stay the same, because all the YOAMD shirts have the castle completely normal, except with darker spires.

P.S. We watched Wishes on 9/30 too! Except we were ALOT closer than you. Infront of the 'Partners' statue infact.
