Are they building a new restaurant in MK?

I thought I read in another thread that a new restaurant was being built in MK. I used the search engine but couldn't find anything--it's very possible it is user error!

If they are, where will it be and will it be TS or CS? Also, when will it be open and what kind of food will be served?

You may be thinking of the Fantasyland Refurbishment. There was originally a new restaurant that was slotted to be opened called "Be Our Guest"

The refurbishment isn't set for completion until 2013 so really there are no details about food, decor, etc. It's quite possible that the name itself could even change a few times during the building process.

And there are two restaurants - the "Be Our Guest" restaurant which is supposed to be table service of some type, and "Gaston's Tavern" which will be counter service.

As to when they will open, what they will serve and how they will serve it, there are no details yet. "Be Our Guest" is expected to be a character experience of some sort but it isn't certain whether they will be costumed characters or animatronics of some kind.

It obviously sounds like this would be characters from Beauty and the Beast, but animatronics???? Have they ever had that at a character meal?

It doesn't count as a character meal, but Remy, who tours Chefs de France several times a day (except Sundays), is an animatronic. There are rumors they may go for a sort of "dinner and a show" thing with an occasional animatronic show rather than have costumed characters visit tables or using actual persons to portray the characters. There's nothing confirmed yet.

I think it is supposed to be mixed use both counter and table, like Via Nappoli was supposed to be.

As far as animatronics, what about Sonny Elipse over at Cosmic Rays? We love him!
