Are these to Scary???

We are going on a family trip to Disney. My DS in 3.5 and DD is 5 I wonder what you think of these things and if they should be on our to do list or save them for when they are older. My DD18 liked them when she was 4-5 or I may not be recalling it correct. Any input would be helpful

Jungle Cruise is pretty tame. Most kids like it. Carousel of Progress I haven't done, but my SIL did it all the time as a kid and she loves it to this day. Mad Tea Party would be fine for the 5 year old, as you can control the spinning somewhat and Snow White is kind of dark and eerie. My dd3 loved it and did it twice. It does spook some kids out though. Hope this helps!

Both my 5yo and 2yo have always loved all those rides. It really depends on how easily they get scared because some kids find Snow White really scary. I just told my kids that if they are scared to close their eyes, or if they have light up shoes on to click her feet together if it is too dark. That worked for us.

The only thing my 5 and 2 year old wouldn't do was Haunted Manison. They rode everything else that they where allowed to with no problem.

We rode everything the girls were tall enough for (ages 2 and 4, no thrill ride other than thunder mountain for 4 yr old) they closed their eyes during mansion but enjoyed everything else- really liked tea cups! Have fun !

I have a 6,4 and 2 year old. They have been riding all those rides since they were babes in arms. Best advice given to us was not to make a big deal about the rides, just get in line and go for it. Don't tell them it might be scarey instead say this is going to be awesome! If they look a little unsure on the ride, pump it up after with ÿou did great, that was awesome. Our DD never would have rode Splash Mountian, that drop looks scarey from the outside! We bribed her with icecream! We knew she would love it and she did! Rode it 4 times after that. She was 4. You know what your kids limits are. We always tell the kids to try it once and then you can truly decide if you don't like it! Works for our family very well. The only ride we put off was Dinosaur at AK. DD6 rode it for the first time along with DS4 (not afraid of anything). They liked it, said it was scarey, but laughed about it and are still talking about it.

My daughters have been riding things since they were babies as well. We just take them on. The only one we had to bribe was DD#2 for TOT- she had seen one too many Twilight zone episodes! Be careful bribing! She went on, liked it , got ice cream. She still uses it to this day that if she goes on she gets ice cream and "pretends" not to like it! We have spent alot at the ice cream cart over the last couple of years near TOT! We don;y mind...kind of a joke now!
My girlfriend bribed her daughter with pins. She got a ride pin for every attraction she tried.... very time consuming and $$$.

It works but it can get expensive!

I agree with other poster that said just go on and dont stress. They will like a lot more if they sense you are excited about the ride, not worried or concerned.

My DD is fearless when it comes to thrill rides, but the Witch from Snow White is in her "Disney for Kids" book and it gave her nightmares...she asks us repeatedly if the "mean lady" is going to be in Florida when she is there...needless to say, we did NOT go on Snow White.

Jungle Cruise was fine, the "guide" on our cruise was in training for the opening of the Tokoyo opening, so I'm not sure how much of the dialoge DD understood, but she liked the ride.

Carousel of Progress was a little long for her, but not scary in any way.

Didn't do the teacups on our last trip.

I think you're fine with all of these. COP is the best ride at DW - nice and cool and you can sit for a good period of time - we always got our girls to sleep during this attraction - then we'd carefully walk over to the TomorrowLand Transit Authority and ride those around for a little while - the attendants wouldn't make us get off at the end of the ride when they saw our girls were asleep - they'd let us ride on through for a 2nd or 3rd time if we wanted. Snow White is a little spooky.

My DD is 3 and instisited that we ride the Tea Cups over and over! She LOVED them. Also she still sings "it's a great big beautiful tomorrow" - She loved CoP. I would skip Snow White if I were you -it's very scary for preschoolers. My DD did like Jungle Cruise, but not as much as those other's I mentioned.

Sorry to jump in on this thread, but what about Peter Pan for a 3 year old? Is it too dark, too high up? I think my daughter will probably like it. The only thing she said she doesn't want to do is the Haunted Mansion, she doesn't want to see the ghosts she said. I will probably also skip Snow White b/c I know the witch scares her.

I took my three year old on Peter Pan, and she LOVED it.

My then-4-year-old DS was more frightened of Snow White than he was of Haunted Mansion. The evil queen has to be one of the greatest scary characters ever invented. He won't go on it again, but we have done Haunted Mansion 5-6 times. Go figure.

Peter Pan and Jungle Cruise (the captain banter is about on his level!) are his favorite rides.

He enjoyed CoP which surprised me. He still can sing the song.

He's iffy on the Tea Cups, but is generally timid about spinning rides. He has to be in total control of the spinning wheel.

RE: Snow White - my DD doesn't even want to read a book about it - They read it in Dance Class a few weeks ago and my DD decided to just get up and leave and come out by us - not crying or anything - but definately determined not to hear about the Witch.

At 2 1/2 my older DD did not like the Snow White, it didn't seem to scare her, but she said it was scarey. Her younger sister at almost the same age was also fine while on the ride, but says the witch 'freaked her out', her words, not mine. None of the other rides scared either one of them, other than one of them was a bit concerned on Pirates of the Carribean when we did the drop and also the giant Troll on the Norway ride and the drop on that ride also. They did not really scare them, but I think startled them.

My younger DD at not quite 2 1/2 decided her favorite ride was the Tea cups. She still talks about them and out trip was back in May. She loved watching for the mouse to pop up out of the tea pot in the middle.

On the other hand, my niece at 6yrs was frightened by many things that did not even bother my kids at all. We didn't even chance HM or Snow White with her.
