Are these repeating Epcot rides?

We're coming in Oct with DS9 and DD5, so some rides will be split up.

On our Epcot day...

For my DS, I have Soarin and Test Track on the list.
For my DD, I have Journey Into Imagination with Figment
For both, I have Turtle Talk, Seas with Nemo.

I will book FP for my DS's rides (Soarin and Test Track).
While he and DH are doing that, I'm thinking of booking FP for DD for two of the above as well.

So my question is...are Turtle Talk and Nemo ones that kids like to go on again and again (i.e. take her once, and then later can take both kids)? Or after the first time, would they be boring?

Or...any other rides at Epcot at Future World that would be good for a 5 year old but boring to a 9 year old?

Epcot has tiered attractions. You can't choose both Soarin' and Test Track, but you may be able to work around it by sharing bands.

You can't book fp for soarin and test track for the same person as the rides are in the same tier. Book soarin for ds and test track for dd and get them to switch bands/ ticket and put a ride your dd wants on your sons band/ticket.
Figment is rubbish but a 5 year old would like nemo 2 times.
Turtle talk is good but I wouldn't watch it twice in a row.

Is there a reason that everyone isn't doing all the rides together?

FWIW Turtle Talk w/ Crush is a show not a ride and depending on the audience interaction it will be different each time.

As PP mentioned, You should share your bands. Book Soarin' for 2 of them and Test Track for the other two. You and your DD will be able to ride Figment standby in less than the time your son and husband are able to ride both Soarin' and Test Track.

Sorry, not sure what you mean???

We can book 3 FP+ per park (per day)

So for my DS and DH, two of these would be Soarin and Test Track. With one remaining.

Can't do this?

Epcot has a tiered system different from the other parks. You can pick 1 FP+ from the popular choices available and then the other 2 have to be from the lesser requested choices. Both TT and Soarin are on the top area so you could only pick one. After your 3 FP+ choices are used you can then add another choice of any tier from your app or a kiosk in the park.

No, they are both Tier 1 attractions, and you can only chose one Tier 1 FP. Are you sure your 5yo wouldn't like Soarin' and TT? Even my 3 yo loved them. I don't know that Figment or Nemo would be worth a second ride, even for a 5yo. You could spend some extra time in the Seas exhibits though.

Because Epcot and DHS have a limited number of attractions, they have tiers. You may only book one tier 1 attraction per person. At Epcot that is Soarin, Test Track, Maelstrom, and Illuminations. You pick one, and the other 2 must be from the remaining tier 2 rides. I'm not sure why this isn't a problem at AK. I feel like they have less must do rides than Studios.

I was also curious as to if there was a specific reason why you weren't planning on taking 5yo on Soarin' and TT? I took both nephew (6) and niece (4) to DLR last year, they both loved Soarin' and RSR (closest we have to TT) and they both loved both rides. Just food for thought if you didn't want to spend half the way apart :)

Group A (Choose 1 attraction)
Epcot Character Spot
IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth
Maelstrom
Soarin'
Test Track
Group B (Choose 2 attractions)
Captain EO
Journey Into Imagination With Figment
Living with the Land
Mission: SPACE Green
Mission: SPACE Orange
Spaceship Earth
The Seas with Nemo & Friends
Turtle Talk with Crush

No, unfortunately you cannot. Because TT and Soarin are in the same Tier (tier 1), you must choose between the two of them for your son. I think that is why some of the PPs are suggesting you split rides up between bands.

Ok...so I could take DD on Nemo while DS rides Soarin, and then she could go again. And noted...Turlte Talk is a one time ride. Thanks.

Thank you all for explaining. Had no idea.

Both Soarin and Test Track seemed a bit scary so I though they would be a bit old for DD5. No?

Book soarin for ds and test track for dd and get them to switch bands/ ticket and put a ride your dd wants on your sons band/ticket.

So to confirm...the bands are easy to get on and off (i.e. so can switch?)

Yes.

I strongly suggest you read the post led to by the green link in my signature. It should hopefully answer a lot of your questions.

I personally would let everyone experience everything once and then decide.

My DD5 did Soarin last time with no issues. Lots of families there. She wants to do Test Track next time because she missed it last time due to a bathroom break and something else going on. Again lots of families on that ride as well.

Disney does very very few rides that are not good for everyone in the party. As long as she meets the height requirement I would take her on both. It's a family vacation enjoy it as a family. :goodvibes If some horrible freak out occurs mid ride atleast you will have a good story years later! ;)

Through Splash Mountain, Soarin, Big Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, etc both DD5 and DS9 did fine they both went completely CRAZY during It's Tough To Be A Bug. You just can't plan everything and now it's a funny story.

Soarin is basically a glorified flight simulator - it moves very gently.
Test track might be an issue (and might not) - think of it like going for a drive with a really bad driver - sharp turns, quick acceleration, bumpy roads.

Look up some youtube videos of ride-throughs for those attractions to give you a better idea

And yes, the bands can be removed/put on just as easily as a watch (perhaps easier).

I guess it depends on how adventurous your 5yo is. Last time I went I think both my nieces were 3. They had no problem on Soarin' and had a great time. We also took them and nephew (he was 6 then i think) on RSR, and Star Tours and they had no problem with anything. As a matter of fact Nephew was begging to go on looping coaster at DCA but he wasnt tall enough yet.

In my experience with nieces and nephew if your not worried they'll be scared then they usually dont get scared, but only you can tell for your dd. For TT she will be able to see (and hear) the cars zooming by outside so she can tell you if she wants to go, but I wouldn't expect any issues with soarin'

In my opinion.... not at all!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter LOVED these rides at age 4... she begged to ride them both again and again...! I would take both of your kids (5&9) for both Test Track & Soarin!

Thank you all. This site is so helpful. I never noticed the tiered system (and likewise for HS day), and great to hear first hand about the rides/atractions.

I don't think Test Track is for my DD, but maybe then she would like Soarin. She is a bit of a chicken, but just last month she went on her first "roller coaster" (one in the kiddie section that just went in a circle with up and down hills) and we couldn't get her off it....so you never know.

So it looks like either we get FP for both DS9 and DD5 for Soarin and skip Test Track FP (DS will just go in regular line for it)

--or--

We put Soarin on one magic band and Test Track on the other.

Good to know that the magic bands can be switched easily (but hopefully not too easily that they can fall off)
