Are these pool hopping black out dates new???

I read in the January Member Clubhouse that pool hopping is not allowed during Presidents Week. Now, I had not heard this before. Did I miss something?? I had thought that this time was not listed in the blackout dates. Did something change?? Are they adding more dates?

Because of the high occupancy that is expected, Disney Vacation Club Members may not "pool hop" during the following dates: Feb. 20-26 and March 19-27. Other restricted dates may be added based on projected pool capacity.

We normally wouldn't pool hop but because of SAB being out of service (or at least partially) I thought it would be fun to try out Luna Park. Oh well, it might be too cold anyway.

Pool hopping is usually suspended around high occupancy holidays. You should always call ahead to the resort you are visiting, they can individually suspend pool hopping at anytime if their pool is crowded.

I would have to say that I've not personally seen these dates in the past. But there is no surprise for me that they are starting to restrict more, as the resort occupancy rate is rising.

So it's not so much that they are changing, just that they are adjusting for projected occupancy.

I orginally thought that Pres. Weekend would be blacked out, but I had seen a list somewhere (no clue where now) that had the blackout dates listed with none in Feb. It suprised me a bit to see this in the newsletter. It seems that I keep making plans for this trip and Disney keeps changing things on me!! LOL!!

If SAB is closed while you are there, they may allow hopping to Luna Park. The reserve was true when they were working on Luna Park.

You will be able to go over to the BW if SAB is still in rehab.

All Yacht & Beach Club Resort guests that wish to use a pool slide as part of their vacation may use the Luna Park pool and Keister Coaster slide at the BoardWalk Resort. During this refurbishment project, shuttle transportation will be available to take guests back and forth between the Yacht & Beach Clubs and the BoardWalk.

You are probably right! I was a little confused after reading the newsletter about BCV pool hopping during Pres. Wk. Who knows, maybe SAB will be more functional than I believe, or will even open a few days early!
