I'm flying from Newark, NJ to MCO. I'm used to the tv's on JetBlue. Does Continental have them? Is is Direct TV? Do you have to pay?

thanks

It probably depends on the model of the plane. I flew Continental last year and they did not have TV's.

Check your plane model on seatguru:

Some of them say:

Currently, there are televisions mounted on the ceiling throughout the plane for all classes. Continental Airlines is in the process of adding 8" personal TVs with DirecTV, which will offer more than 75 channels of live television programming and eight channels of previously recorded programming such as premium movies, sitcoms, dramas, and more. The service is complimentary in First Class and is available at each seat in Economy Class for $6 per flight.

Unless the plane is typically used on International or long haul flights highly unlikely with Continental. I have been on domestic flights on International jets with Continental and they are much nicer in terms of media offerings (although I'm speaking not from a coach perspective).

Our Continental flights from Philly to Houston to Santa Ana, CA had the little TVs. Or at least one part each way. You did have to pay if you wanted to watch once the plane was in the air. It will definitely depend on what type of plane you are on.

We fly from EWR to MCO frequently in coach. If the flight offers Direct TV I pay the $4.00 since I have a CO Master Card and get a $2 discount. Bring your own headsets. The $6.00/$4.00 for direct tv is worth it to me.

Thanks guys for the replies. It sounds like I might get lucky.

I find they have the tv's on about half of the flights I've been on. They also offer the small ear phones.

Thanks, my type of plane is 75% complete. That's not 100%, but is more than half. (I don't really care, it's my 10 year old who keeps bugging me, I'm just happy if the thing takes off and lands ;))
