Are there test seats available?

I remember reading on here before that some rides had seats available to sit in before actually getting in line. I've tried searching around but I can't seem to find the information. I'll be travelling with someone who is somewhat pooh-sized and she's a little nervous about getting on some rides - specifically, Test Track and Space Mountain. I've already showed her the "WDW at Large" page, but she's still wondering if either of these attractions has, like, a test seat she could get into beforehand to make sure she can get in and out with no problem?

I don't recall seeing any test seats at WDW but I doubt she would have a problem at either of those attractions. Splash is a log ride with no restraints and seats 2-3 wide and if you can drive/ride in a car you should have no problem at TT. You may want to avoid the singles line at TT however as the cars seat 3 across and the center may be uncofortable for a larger person.

Yeah, I don't recall seeing any test seats at WDW either, but I could've sworn I saw something about a TT test seat somewhere, like around a corner or something? I might be mistaken though. The one she was most concerned about was SM but I haven't seen anything there either, but I was hoping someone might know if there is one or not. :earsboy:

Just returned about 2 weeks ago. Sorry, we did not see any "test seats" at any of the rides and we did almost all of them.

The only test seats I've seen are at Rock 'N Roller Coaster, and even they're hard to find. They used to be right out front, but were moved - my guess is due to either abuse or in sensitivity toward Pooh- and Baloo-sized Guests.

Anyway, you have to ask the Greeter who will direct you toward the test seat location (inside, around back, in the exit area). Once you get there, they're down a short hallway and behind a closed door.

Test Track does have a test seat; it is in a small nook just beyond the briefing rooms. Although I suspect few people ever notice it, it is in plain sight to the right as ride vehicles approach the unload platform. (I never noticed it until it was pointed out to me on the Undiscovered Future World tour.)

I'm a Pooh sized woman (5'8" and up to 325 on previous trips)... carry quite a bit around the middle... and I ride 'em all.

Space Mountain... due to the seat placement, the seat is only a few inches higher than the rocket floor (your legs stick out in front of you rather than hanging below you like in a chair)... use the sides of the rocket and the seatbacks to help yourself get up

Test Track... and any other ride with a belt... pull the belt out, around you, and buckle it BEFORE you sit down... easier than blindly hunting for the the belt latch

the seat on space mountain is ok it's just hard to get in and out of if you have arthritic knees or back
