Are there songs that you hate that gets lots of radio air time?

My 12 and 15yo boys HATE the song You're Beautiful by James Blunt and they play it all the time on the radio. My boys go crazy when they here it and if they aren't in the room I call them in. They get me back by changing the channel to rap music, which I can't stand (rap and music don't belong together in the same sentence ).

So what can't you stand that seems to get lots of air time?

Actually, a song that was performed on American idol the other night, called "If you're not the one for me" by Daniel Beningfield. I HATE that song.

I, too, hate "You're Beautiful." Every time I hear it, I think that someone made it as a joke.

I hate "You're Beautiful" too! Of course, now it is in my head. Grr.

I also hate that song by Nickelback--photograph, I think.

I'm stuck listening to a LIGHT music station, since it's the only one that comes in clear here and if I here Benny Mardones' song Into the Night ONE MORE TIME I'm going to PUKE!

I call it the "pedophile anthem"....

I listen to alternarock and there is this new song called "Tear You Apart" by She Wants Revenge and they are awful, I don't get it!!

It's kind of like tv jingles that come on tv that get stuck in your head. Years ago there used to be a jingle thatcame on tv in the mornings before my kids left for school--1-800-JAY-HAWK, it's 1-800-J-A-Y-H-A-W-K. The kids would try to get out the door before it aired on tv since it would otherwise get stuck in their heads and if it started to come on they would RUN out the door. Funniest thing to watch. We still laugh about that one even though it was in our old house, so it was 6-8 years ago.

I can't stand "I'm in love with a stripper". And the radio station plays it ALL the time with little girls calling it in ALL the time. Drives me nuts!

I HATED the 'my humps' song, especially since I found out DH's young cousin loves it (and her mother lets her listen to it... , don't get me started)...

I also hate this new song about 'my grill', don't know the name, but I don't like it...

I used to love that song, when I was young...now I think it's a bit...odd

I absolutely do!!! The hideous James Blunt "You're Beautiful." BBBBLLLEEECCHHH!! I was at the dentist this week and this came on the radio. I told them to go ahead and give me a root canal- it couldn't be any more painful than that song. My hygienist stopped what she was doing to laugh her head off

I agree with You're Beautiful. I hate that song too. It's everywhere. I even heard it in the bathroom at the movie theatre. It's unescapable.

I mostly hate the hypocrisy of radio lately. One minute they're playing something really sleazy and the next song mentions Jesus, somebody's Mama (or someone really ill), and waving the flag til your arms fall off. A DJ who speaks their mind doesn't have a chance. People freak if someone SAYS a curse word, but they can RAP and SING them all day long.

I'm also "fed up" with certain performers who oversing everything. I'm tired of all the screaming, whining, and moaning. JUST SING THE SONG!!!!

And what's the deal lately with dragging up songs from years ago (that weren't any good then) and acting like they're a fantastic new discovery?

I also ABSOLUTELY ABHOR "You're Beautiful". I can't STAND it.

Also, anything by Gwen Stefani I can't stand. I have a hard time listening to Jack Johnson too.... just because I think he's only written one song in his life and they keep rereleasing it under different names

And back when it was played much more often, I cringed at the sound of "Daughters" by John Mayer.

However, "Humps" has grown on me like a fungus.

My husband and I both hate that '"daughters" song. My hubby is a navy pilot and when he was oversees they have a military radio station that plays the same like 100 songs over and over for months at a time and "daughters" was one of them so its black listed in our house.......if he comes on he runs! We share an ipod so I added it to his play list before he went to the gym one morning...hehe. He called me from the gym to yell
