Are there plans for the next DVC property?

I love it just the way it is....it's PERFECT for me and my family. Why don't I worry about what's best for "MY FAMILY"....thanks anyway. ;)

JerJan I agree totally. We love SSR as it is perfect for our family and that is why we bought there. Certainly as the construction is completed and the foliage matures it will be even more beautiful in my eyes. Since we bought in 2004 we have only stayed at one other DVC resort by choice, DS just had to try SAB. Certainly another themed pool in the Paddock area by the entrance would probably be a good idea since it appears to me that of all of the buildings current and planned the two by the entrance to the resort are the least desirable IMO. A mini themed pool would perhaps be a draw to that area. Again I think SSR is great just the way it is. The flip side to this is all of those so called improvements such as another themed pool will most certainly result in higher maintenance fees. Not necessarily sure how comfortable I feel catering to those that bash SSR and have no intention of ever staying there.

Leaping Lizards, you mean they build resorts where the primary draw is golf, well they won't last. :lmao:

Can you imagine??? What idiot in a boardroom thunk up that crazy notion that people might want to play golf on vacation!! And in Florida of all things!!

Newsflash: Not all DVC members have to be in a park, breathing down Mickey's neck, every second of the day.

While I appreciate Dave's and B3's crusade to "fix" SSR, (stay tuned for their telethon appearing next week..) it really is not necessary.

What we need are more parks in WDW

I have often debated with Disney Friends and Relatives the next Park or DVC Club to have at Walt Disney World.

Sometimes I want a future version of the Magic Kingdom, that has grown up to the needs of a Young Adult or Older.

It would include rides from Disneyland such as the Indiana Jones Ride, Matahorn, the Grand Californian RollerCoaster, More Water Rides.

Now if I could only live at DVC !

SSR when done will make up 40% of the WDW resorts. We all we get stu.......... errrrrrrrrrr I mean we all will end up staying at SSR at some time. Not every vacation over the course of 40 years will be booked 7 mths in advance.

You need to keep in mind when the owners prior to SSR, bought into DVC we "assumed" the future DVC resorts would have the same quality overall as the current DVC resorts.

Imagine the uproar if/when DVC builds a resort 4 times as large as SSR, and that resort is NOT as nice as SSR, and you as an SSR owner are Stu............. errrrrrrr, left with it as your only option when you call to book at trip 200 days in advance of your VACATION.

Will it concern you that you paid for a resort the Quality of SSR, but have to book into a resort that is not on par with what you BOUGHT?

As I understand it ,DVC can close the other resorts to people who don't own there? (someone will chime in here). As a HH and BWV owner, I would rather see DVC do this, then continue to build resorts that simply don't measure up.

I would still love to see DVC resorts built at all of the Disney parks around the world. JMO :)

Such a simple yet ingeneous remark. I mean, it is Disney Vacation Club, after all.

boatboatboat you certainly make some valid points. I guess my issue with some is the manner in which certain points are made. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and the size of SSR and the % of DVC rooms at the resort is not to be disputed. Sometimes the written word can be misinterpreted. Your comments about getting STUCK staying there....prior owners to SSR assumed future DVCs would have the same quality....and other comments on this board are sometimes taken as a personal attack on our home. Kinda like how you can say anything you want about your family but when someone else does...watch out! I think SSR is a quality resort. I consider my family very lucky that we have the means to own DVC. Could they make improvements? Sure...who couldn't? I sometimes wonder if SSR owners feel they want to try all the resorts because of the comments of so many that say eventually you won't get any other resort at 7 months. We are happy with our SSR purchase so far. It would be great if everyone was.
Our guide was very upfront and we feel we were well informed when we made our purchase. I wish everyone felt the same way. Then again I wish I lived in Disney World and I doubt thats ever going to happen. :sunny:

Tammy, we did that same thing. May will be our 4th trip on our AP's

I may be in the minority here, but I hope the next DVC is Eagle Pines! I LOVE golf, and I think it is going to be located in a great place..

My thoughts:
1. BWV/YC= for Epcot/MGM lovers
2. WL-For MK lovers
3. SSR-For DD lovers
4.OKW-For BIG room lovers
5.Eagle Pines-For golf lovers

See, I have it ALL figured out!! LOL

I'm not a golfer.

But all my nephews love the sport.

I'm just curious, the GOLF COURSE goes right through OLD KEY WEST.

Is that a decent course or not ?

I am getting the feeling it doesn't satisfy all GOLF Lovers concept of a Timeshare.

When I stay at OKW my friends and relatives who love the sport of GOLF, love watching from the Patio.

I'm not a golfer either. My Bro and Dad play golf. I'm gonna join the golf club and set them up for some rounds. Disney has some PGA courses

In September 05, we took my mother to BWV. She took the DVC tour and was told that CR and AK were the next DVC resorts (she was told not to tell anyone, because it was still a "secret"). Our MEx bus driver told us of the plans for the fifth theme park -- basically for teens and adults--thrill rides, that sort of thing. I'm sure others have heard the same from bus drivers, tour guides, and the like. I'd def. add on if AK became a DVC resort. :scratchin

I would buy into both of them. I guess rumors are going to fly until they actually break ground.
