Are there plans for DVC rooms at the Polynesian?

If they moved the smaller parking lot over to the area under the monorail by Luau Cove, they'd easily have the space to build a DVC building there between the Westgate Service Road, the monorail, and the existing buildings. They could also repurpose Rapa Nui, or even tear it down to make way for a fairly decent sized DVC complex in that space.

I don't see it happening in the near future, but I would never rule it out. As I said, DVC will very likely eventually canabalize enough of WDW's deluxe business that most if not all of the resorts will need to covert some of their property to DVC to continue to attract guests to keep their familities full.

Are you saying that in 10 - 15 years the Deluxe Resorts which do not have any DVC buildings attached to them will have trouble trying to get families to stay there? They have lasted this long without them.

Business administration 101, the key word is canabalize.

As much as points cost now, I'd hate to see the cost of points in 5-10 years. They are outrageous now. I'm glad we bought into DVC in 1997 when points were less than half of what they are going for now.

I, too, hate to see DVC popping up all over the place. It just to be Disney's Best Kept Secret; now it's Disney best bankroll.
