are there limits to bringing in food?

is there any limit to the food or drinks you can bring into the parks? (I know they don't allow alcohol, but are there any other limits?) Could I pack lunch, etc.??

You can bring in pretty much anything. I've never seen them turn someone away. We've often packed lunch and picniced someplace in the park. We bring in snack food, sandwiches, etc. You may not be allowed to bring in glass bottles but I'm not certain about that.

We've brought in lunch before too and had a picnic. We always bring drinks and snacks for during the day. I saw a guy once with one of those huge coolers on wheels, and the security guy just looked through it - told him he was only checking for alcohol. I wouldn't want to carry that size cooler around all day, but that pretty much tells you they don't care what you bring in (food-wise). I probably wouldn't bring in any glass containers either, but I have seen people with baby food jars - so not certain on there thoughts on that either.

The only bad thing with bringing your own food is that there aren't any real picnic places in the parks. And the paying customers really have the right to the tables and chairs at the dining areas.

If you can find a bench someplace, you could eat your food there.

We've always been able to find a bench with no problem. Our kids can't sit still at a table anyway.

Be cautious with containers. Glass is not a good idea. Don't bring your own alcohol, especially to the MK.

Dining on your own food is easily accomplished. You are a paying guest and as such have the same right as anyone to use the public tables and chairs.

I wouldn't recommend bringing in a portable BBQ grill though.

There are tables at the train station in MK. Also tables in Adventureland near Dole Whip stand. Those tables are not associated with any restaurant. We've lunched in both of those spots.

Can't think of any in EPCOT offhand.

In MGM, the tables near Rosie's are obviously intended for that location, but unless you are going at a peak time, there are always plenty of open tables. No one will chase you away if you are eating your own food.

The only place we've actually sat inside a restaurant with our own food was in AK. We went into one of the side rooms at Pizzafari. That place is so big that no one even noticed us. And we did buy drinks at the counter, so we weren't completely non-customers.

The only picnic area I can think of is at the TTC at the MK. But if MK has an area I'm sure there must be one at EP, AK, & MGM. I was under the impression large family style picnics were unacceptable because they don't have the space for them. We have always taken a sandwich or snacks in and discreetly had lunch. I believe what they are concerned with are families spreading out blankets or hogging the tables in restaurant areas etc. But of course, people try to save money and bring light lunches with them.

I don't think they are very strict about it. I recall someone here posting that the once saw a family walking around the Magic Kingdom eating spaghettios right out of the can. I can't help but giggle at that one
