Was thinking of resale- but do the timeshare resale people offer any financing programs to pay off the cost over time?

If not, has anyone else had luck finding any other institution that would finance the purchase of a timeshare?

Thanks

As far as a know, TSS does NOT offer financing. I have seen other online DVC resellers offer financing however, so search the web. I have also seen people on here discuss various ways they have financed, from getting a home equity loan, to a personal loan, to writing a cash advance check on a credit card and then transferring that balance to a 0% credit card. Lots of creative financing used!

I've heard people (darned if I can remember where....) mention equity lines of credit. That's one option. We just went and got a 4 yr personal loan from our bank at a pretty low rate and used that. I believe with Tammac (which is who TTS refers people to, I believe) they have 5 yr and 7yr terms (depending on the loan amount), whereas with Disney you can get up to 10. As far as personal loans, it depends on the bank. Good luck!

Plus you will occasionally come across a private seller willing to self finance.

We had this problem too. We first looked at SSR and DVC had a rate of 10%. (ouch)

We decided on BWV resale. We opted for a home equity line of credit. Then, our credit card co. offered a fixed rate of 3.9 for the life of the transfer w/no xfer fee.

Word of caution, if you xfer a balance, don't use the card anymore. Otherwise, they'll apply your payments to the DVC xfer and not to the higher rate purchases/balances. Card co's. get rich on this activity. Read all of the fine print. Ignorance can be very expensive.
