Are there cheaper days of the week to fly?

Hi,

This has probably been asked a million times but I'm asking again. We are going down in August for a 6 day stay at the Beach Club. I have it booked for Sunday, August 21 - Friday, August 26th.

I was wondering if historically it was cheaper to fly in and out on certain days, like a Saturday night stay? The airfare seems a bit expensive right now so I wanted to see if my Dis friends could help.

for us, flying out either monday or tuesday has been much cheaper for us, play with your dates and you'll find the cheaper dates. We only book tuesday or monday for most trips that we do now.

If you are planning on renting a car many of the best discount codes require a 5 day rental and a saturday night keep. As stated previously if you're flexible play with the dates with different airlines if you have that option.

Book on a Tuesday and fly on a Tuesday. (suggested by the Wall Street Journal).

I find Tuesday and Wednesday are often cheapest followed by Saturday.

I have almost always found that I can save a lot of money by flying out on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays with Wednesday usually being the best rate.

Thanks for the help. I have noticed the same thing with my flights. Sunday - Friday is about $400 more total than Tuesday - Sunday.

I usually fly on Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday. I always search for fares on Tuesday afternoon - they are usually lower.

On the SW website, they have an option for finding the cheapest fares....most times, it is cheaper to fly during the week....Sunday is a higher cost.

An update to my original post.

My original trip was 8/21-8/26. The airfare was so much cheaper to fly on Tuesday 8/23 instead of Sunday, 8/21 that I changed my trip dates. The best news of all is that we added another full day on at the end so we are now going down from 8/23-8/29 and are using the money we saved on our airfare towards an extra night at the Beach Club, as well as an extra night of the dining plan.

We almost always fly Jet Blue but the cost was outrageous for whatever reason, so we are flying Delta, which I find wonderully ironic since we are going down to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and we flew Delta down to WDW for our honeymoon way back in 1991.

To me that is great sign!
