My son LOVES chocolate, but my daughter (5) can't eat it. Unfortunately, I made the mistake today of telling my son that they have these Mickey (his favorite character) ice cream bars at Disney that I've heard so much about on these boards. I thought I read that the ears were dipped in chocolate or something, and my daughter got really upset b/c now she thinks she's going to miss out on all the "fun" desserts when we go (in December) that will have chocolate on or in them. I told her I'd ask on here to see what other fun desserts they may have for her. Any help you can give me here would be great!!! We've never been to Disney, so I have no idea what they serve!

There are these great Ikadozzie bars ( sp? ) that she can get when you get the Mickey Bars.. They are long, twirled ice bars and really fun and cute looking.

LOTS of people love the pineapple Dole Whips in Adventureland. I personally can't tell why, but I'm definitely in the minority. In Epcot, they have kaki gori--no chocolate there either. There are lots of nice pastries at the bakeries in the parks and on the Boardwalk, and great sundae options at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club and Ghiradelli Soda Fountain at DTD.

There are tons more, like frozen drinks in tons of places, sweet pretzels, several options at the carts where they sell ice cream (like the Itzakadoozie), and on and on and on. I don't think not having a Mickey Bar will be too much of a problem! :)

Your DD will love the Itzakadoozie-mine does! She looks forward to getting some while we are there every trip. They are made by Nestle but hard to find outside of WDW. Knott's Berry Farm used to sell them but last time we checked they didn't anymore :confused3 Needless to say, DD8 was very disapointed. Other than the Itza..., her new favorite treat is the Dole Whip. We finally had one a few months ago at DLR (I've been going there all my life but never had one) and now she is hooked!

Here's a pix of the Itzakadoozie-show your DD-it'll get her excited.

It's about 10-12" long! Very tasty too. Enjoy!

Added-Just so you know, not all ice cream carts sell them. We've found them at MK, Epcot, and food courts. Haven't seen them at DHS or AK. They may be there, but we haven't been able to find them.

There are lots of non-chocolate snack items...frozen lemonade, itsakadoozie, school bread, soft pretzels (sweet and salty), pastries, popcorn, dole whip, etc...check out the menus on the Dis or All Ears.

Oh yeah...a few more I thought about...smoothies, shakes, sundaes, cheesecake, and HOW COULD I FORGET CHURROS....mmmmm!:cloud9:

You could get her the Mickey shaped rice crispie bar while he has the Mickey shaped ice cream. Or both of them the rice crispie just his dipped in chocolate.

I really like the frozen juice bars they have at the ice cream carts (right by the mickey ears). They're very refreshing on a hot day -- much less filling than an ice cream bar. In fact, since I'm not much of an ice cream eater, I'm much more likely to get a juice bar than an ice cream bar!

Wow! Thanks so much! She's especially excited about the Mickey shaped rice krispie bars and the swirly itsa-whatever popsicles! You're all life-savers!!!:worship:

As an adult who avoids chocolate (sets off migraines), there are PLENTY of non chocolate desserts and snacks at Disney World (unlike some of the chain restaurants who seem to have double chocolate of everything or stick something on top of a chocolate brownie). At the Boardwalk Bakery, for example, you can get your son this great chocolate cake (husband's boss said it was great) and right next to it will be the best fruit tart I have ever tasted.

And the Itzakodoozie pops last much longer than those Mickey bars.
