I know there are the lower chairs, so you are sitting close to the sand. Are there any more “higher up” Beach chairs?

Thank you.

I have never seen any on the beach. I would love if there were. It’s sometimes almost impossible for these old knees to move from a beach chair to a standing position. I’ve wondered about bringing my own collapsible chair in its own case

I have a friend heading out soon, and she mentions that more than anything she likes her toes in the water and reading a book. She’s afraid she won’t be able to get up. I’m trying to find an answer, or else I will tell her to look into bringing what @Henlady describes!

I think lots of us would like to see some at CC.

They are definitely available for cabana guests and there where some at Serenity bay last time we went in 2019. I don’t recall if there are some on the family beach.

I need the height and have never seen them on the beach at Serenity Bay. They have low chairs the height of the loungers. I ended up sitting in a chair at the bar, still overlooking the Bay.

Oh good grief. Now you have me worried. I've always loved the low ones but will I be able to get up these days? Oh well, I foresee many laughs from my daughter and me if l can't get up. It won't be pretty.

you are not alone. I avoid those chairs just for that reason. On a side note, I have seen the lifeguard get a chair from the bar area on serenity for an elderly guest. It was not taken to the water, but they kept it in the shade near the lounge area.

My titanium knee days are here for good LOL. Whenever we are at a pool, I have to *claim* a patio chair and put my cane on it. *Claiming* a chair is a no-no I guess, however the end results of not doing so would be worse...

I don’t just have problems with beach chairs. All sofas and cushy chairs on the ship (including the flip-down bed/sofa in the cabin are too low. It’s like they were bought to accommodate children and short people.

And I barely got on the tram at Castaway Cay this Spring. I needed help almost every time.

I am okay walking. It’s a weird autoimmune disease effect.

Am I alone on the ship furniture issue?

I am 6 ft tall with bad knees. Trying to sit down in a chair/sofa etc that is 18 inches off the ground is a total excursion in pain. That’s a long way down for someone with 34 inch long legs. I do the best I can. When I get down into the chair or whatever I tend to stay there as long as possible cause it’s going to hurt when I stand up.

Oh Boy do I feel all your pain!!! I have a hard time sitting in the low beach chairs at CC. I do have a trick/hack though......I dig a hole about eight inches deep with my feet (or you can bring a sand shovel) and about 8-10 inches wide, enough space so my feet are flat in the hole . Putting your feet in the hole and pushing off the arm rests makes it so much easier to stand up. That and rocking forward......1, 2, 3 UP!! Then I just step up and out of the hole.
