Are there any Canadians that have stayed at the W. Bonnet Creek?

What was your overall impression of the property? There are some mixed reviews. If I may be so bold, who did you rent from and what was your cost. What type of room did you have? We are looking to stay in a 2 bedroom presidential over March break.(Ontario)

Trying to break down what the cost would be to stay on property versus at the WBC. We will have a rental so transportation is not a real issue.

My son has sensory problems so we are not park commandos. We like the idea of having some amenities. Being able to put the kids to bed and relax with the hubby and not worry about waking anyone sounds great. But if Disney offers free dining, we will certainly have to crunch numbers and think this through.

What are your thoughts? TIA

We've stayed at Bonnet Creek our last three trips. Can't see why we'd stay elsewhere - we love it. The years my M-I-L joined us we got a three bedroom, and our last trip this past May, we got a two bedroom. I believe the price was $114 per night - I think the total was $685. Honestly, the cost of Bonnet Creek is one of the cheapest parts of our trip. We drive, from Ottawa, so our gas was more than that. Our park tickets are more, food & spending are more....you get the idea. It's a beautiful resort. Lots of pools, amenities, and the grounds are really nice. Lots of flowers, trees, benches, bridges, just picturesque places that really make you feel like you're far from home & on vacation.

The last two years we've rented from Ken & Denise Price at Vacation Upgrades. They've been so great to work with. Highly recommend :thumbsup2

And I hear you about being able to put the kids to bed. It's one of the major reasons for not staying on site. Well, that and the HUGE cost savings - even with Free Dining. Trust me, we've crunched the numbers on that offer too. We get the kiddos tucked in for the night, and head out to the patio with a glass of wine and enjoy this view from our balcony, taken from out trip in May

Good luck with the planning!

We stayed last May and really loved it. We stayed a week at POR and then a week at bonnet Creek. We rented a 2 bedroom for 7 nights the second week of May which I got of ebay for $498. The place is very beautiful and quiet IMO. The rooms are big and so is the living space. We loved sitting on the balcony at night after coming back from the park while the girls were sleeping. Other day we would go down for a last swim with the girls before bed. I have seriously not bad to say about the place. The place is also very clean and well maintained. The shuttle service to the parks really sucked tho but we drove most of the time. It's litterally about 10 minutes from POR which means you are right in the middle of Disney but free dining is really the best for us and will pick that over BC anytime.

For them to not bother you about the presentation, when you fill the wage category put yourself at the lowest family income. I can assure you that they won't try to sell you anything LOL

We also stayed there about a year and a half ago. After spending a week there I can't see any reason why we'd stay anywhere else. The units are HUGE, way bigger than the onsite resorts. Beautifully decorated with a full kitchen if you were in the mood to cook your own meals. We did that for breakfasts almost every morning and for a few evening meals as well. They have some nice barbecues near some of the pool areas. It was kind of nice to cook up some steaks or chicken after a day at the parks.

We also rented from Ken & Denise Price at Vacation Upgrades at whatever price they post for booking 60 days out. Off the top of my head I don't remember the price but it was a huge savings from staying onsite, and with a bigger unit to boot. Chance are, though, that if you're looking to book there for March Break there won't be any units left if you wait 60 days before you go so you'd likely have to book it further in advance for a somewhat steeper price. I'm sure Ken and Denise could let you know more about that.

The other nice thing about the units is that they're quiet! We had a three bedroom unit in building six and couldn't hear the kids in their room at the other side of the living room. When we arrived we found out our unit was overlooking the parking lot but I think that ended up being for the best. The units facing the pool look like they might get a bit more outdoor noise from folks splashing around and with music playing. And even with the parking lot immediately in front of us our huge balcony overlooked lots of trees and Downtown Disney off in the distance. I loved having my morning coffee out there as the fog was starting to burn off.

If you haven't already, check out the "We loooooove Bonnet Creek" thread over in the Orlando Hotels and Attractions section. That's how we found out about the place originally. Lots of photos and any questions you might have have probably been answered there many times over.

Thank you for your responses. Do you feel the extra money spent on a presidential unit is worth it?

We also rented from Ken & Denise. We loved Bonnet Creek and wouldn't think twice of going back there. We have been doing one year at BC one year at Cypress Pointe. We like both resorts, but I like the location of Cypress better. I like the duck out of the back entrance for Seaworld for driving though. So the year we do a Disney year, we stay at Bonnet, the year we are doing Universal/Seaworld we do Cypress Pointe!

Free dining always looks great and is a good deal for sure. But you are paying full price for a small unit unless you can afford to stay in a villa. We have crunched the numbers as well and have come to the realization that space, privacy and lower price are much more important to us than being "immersed" in the Disney bubble. The greatest thing is how CLOSE WBC is to all the parks. You can literally see Epcot from the balconies of some of the towers. It's ridiculous. You are down the street from everything!

Is Wyndham Bonnet Creek the resort that you get to from within WDW property or is that Hilton Bonnet Creek?

Bonnet Creek is a plot of land that is bordered on 3 sides by Disney property but is not owned by Disney. On the Bonnet Creek property you will find the Hilton Bonnet Creek, the Waldorf Astoria, Wyndham Bonnet Creek and the Wyndham Grand Bonnet Creek. To access BC you must drive on disney property. The road that you use to enter BC is right beside the CBR.

We just returned from a 2 week stay at WBC. I rented from Ken and Denise at Vacation Upgrades. They were a dream to deal with and since I booked inside of the 60 day mark I paid $120/night for a 2 bedroom. There are no additional taxes or fees.

We loved the resort and would gladly stay there again but I did find it to be a very different type of vacation. Having a full kitchen we felt like we should cook some meals and ended up cooking many more than I thought we would. There was nothing bad about that, in fact we ended up spending about $300 less on food than we had planned for, but not eating out much changed the feel of the trip. We don't eat out that often at home so doing it on vacation is something we all look forward to and have many favourite places in FL.

We really enjoyed not all being in the same room ALL the time. It did feel kind of funny that the kids were so far away in their own room....we have never done that before.

We own at Bonnet Creek and love it there. We usually go down during March Break and sometimes during the summer as well. I can't help you out for the rental costs, but for us, we have saved a lot of money by purchasing our timeshare (resale) and using it for vacations. It is really hard to go back to a regular hotel room once you have experienced this. As for the presidentail, stayed in one this past March Break, it was nice, but really not worth the extra money. Hope you have a great time!
