Are there any Birkenstock lovers!

I have a question about Birks. I have had mine about 5-6 years, so they are well worn in and very comfortable(they are the two strap, no back type). However, I cannot walk long distances in them because them make my legs tired. I mostly wear them around the house, to the pool, and for errands. But not to the mall and definitely not to Disney World! In fact, in the summer (which is when I wear nothing but Birks)the tops of my feet hurt and my shins hurt. I find myself shuffling my feet. I have flat feet and a tendency toward plantar fasciitis, but that doen'st hurt as bad as the tops of my feet!

My sister has worn Birks for 20 years and she has never had this problem. What do you make of it?

I love Birkenstocks. I have 13 pairs and they are all I wear on my WDW vacations. They are actually all I wear at home too. I have a pair next to my back door and as soon as I come in I slip them on. I'm looking for some to match my dress for my daughter's wedding to wear at the reception.

Could they be a size to big/small? My legs did get tired when I first starting wearing them, but than I got used to them & it didn't bother me anymore. I have no problem wearing them to the parks.

I have three pairs of birks. I live in these shoes all spring , summer and part of fall. If there's a likelyhood I'm going to get wet, I wear my tevas. Unfortunately, as a result of my luv affair with Birks, it's tough getting my feet back in regular shoes come cold weather!

I'm wearing my Birk Milanos right now! They're "in training" for my October trip. I figure if I wear them EVERYDAY from now until then, we'll get used to one another. I had to buy these to replace my 13-year-old pair that, sadly, bit the dust after two resolings and a trip to the "Birk doctor" for an overhaul. They had been to Paris, every WDW trip I've taken, Barbados, St. Thomas, and every domestic trip... sooo sad.

I have have three pairs of fashion Birks (they just keep getting cuter and cuter) and Zappo's sometimes has them cheap.

I cannot wear my birks on water rides (KRR). I've tried my fake leather ones (birko-flor) and also the rubber ones they make but when either get wet it's blister city for me. When they're dry though, you can't beat them!

I LOVE my Birks!!!!!!!!!!!! They are all I wear, once the snow is gone! I don't even take any other shoes to WDW anymore. I wear mainly the two strap slip-ons, but I have a pair of 3 strap too. I did not start wearing them to WDW until I discovered the soft footbed models though. They have all the great features of regular birks, but they are like walking on a cloud and don't require the break in period. They are heaven!!!
