We bought into BCV in the spring and I am thinking about an addon.

(My parents want a small number of points and resales are so hard to come by!)

What are the costs for a 60 point add on at BCV? ANd is it possible to do an addon at a differetn resort?

Thanks!

If you purchase thru DVC, you pay the current price per point (which I think is $80), but there are no closing costs.

It is possible to do an add-on at a different resort if points are available at that resort. But if you do this, you need to think about why you want a different resort.

The reason we did an add-on at Vero Beach for example was so that we would have the 11 month booking window, and so with banking and borrowing we can take a very nice long vacation at Vero every other year, or a short 2 or 3 day gateway in conjunction with a WDW trip every year - and we're usually assured of availability regardless of what time of year since we typically plan 11 months in advance.

Firefighter Mickey, If Im reading your post correctly, you are saying that if you own points at one resort you can get add-on points at another resort? Say I have OKW and want to get add-on points at BCV, is that possible? I know the min. add-on you can get is 25 but if I did add-on points at BCV would they make me get the 150? Sorry for all the questions just trying to get all these point rules figured out........Thanks

Once you own at any DVC resort, you can add-on points at any other DVC resort (assuming they have points available) as long as you purchase the minimum needed for an add-on - and as you said, the minimum is 25.

We own something like 290 at OKW and 70 at Vero Beach.

Lots of people have points at multiple resorts. usually the reason is that they want the home booking advantage at the other resort, but anymore sometimes adding on at another resort is the only easy way to just get more total points.

Thanks for the info Firefighter Mickey. We are in the process of buying a OKW resale. I really wanted BCV but dh not completely convinced (trying to fix that, lol). Anyway found a great resales with low points and good rate but my heart has been set on BCV because I have 2 teens who like to be in the middle of the action. It was easier to convince him to get 115 at OKW than the 150 at BCV--which I still want but this will make both of us happy. I can get BCV and he doesnt have to get 150. My poor dh, I havent even signed the papers yet on my first dvc property and now am trying to figure out how to get my second, lol.

Deena: We bought an OKW resale in March because it was the only way I could get my "unconvinced dh" to buy into DVC (although I am very happy to own OKW). I found out about being able to do a small add on here on the boards and you can imagine my dh's surprise when I asked for a 70 point add on the week after we closed.:D After our first visit to BCV dh said "I am not upset about that add on anymore". He loved BCV. I am very happy to have points at both resorts. I hope it works out for you to get some BCV points also.

nisiemouse--how cool for you. I hope my dh takes a turn for the better. If our sale goes thru we will have 115 at OKW and I'm hoping atleast by Jan or Feb to get 100 min at BCV. So hopefully we will be neighbors at 2 resorts:teeth: I do like OKW but not having stayed there yet my concern is I will feel to far away from the action. But maybe this will be a big plus for dh, you never know. Although my 2 teenage boys could take the boat to DD to DQ, you know how boys love games. Hmmm since I have 4 boys I should be able to have 4 dvc resorts, lol.

4greatboys - I think you need to call your DVC guide and ask him/her your add on question. Since your initial purchase is less than the 150 minimum for a new member, Disney may not allow you to buy an add on less than 150 at BCV. While I do not know for sure what Disney's policy on this is, I am sure you will want to have that information before you close on your resale. Good luck!

Carol thanks for the info. We are going to get the OKW--less sticker shock for hubby. But I will check with my guide to see what they say. I really could use the 150 BCV points anyway--we are a family of 6 so we will be looking at lots of 2 bdrms.
