Are Theme Park View rooms at GF worth it?

We stayed at the GF last November/December in a lagoon view room. We were in Boca Chica in one of the dormer rooms (I specifically requested not to have one of those). A couple of trees obstructed much of our lagoon view. We had made a point of arriving early but were told that we couldn't switch rooms because of the length of our stay (9 nights). We're staying at the CR this October/November--tower room--no trees! Next stay at the GF will likely be a garden view (not interested in concierge because I don't like "community eating").

1) The term "worth it" calls for a tough answer.
2) Worth is subjective, and different to many people.
3) I know folks that without a view or a specific room number
. . . the vacation is positively ruined and they go off a deep end
. . . the edge is taken off the vacation
. . . it doesn't matter at all
4) It is just what is important for you.

NOTE: We are one of those where the view is not important. In fact, we once had a room that faced a parking area and we were so pleased. We didn't hear other guests and it was actually more peaceful than other rooms where we had paid considerably more. Once, at the GF, we had a lagoon view that we liked better than our daughter's MK view.

Despite the fact that I had spent a good bit of time and effort trying to get "just the right room view" for our visit last November/December, and we ended up with a mostly a "tree view," we had a WONDERFUL vacation, but we agreed that next time, which turns out to be this fall, we wouldn't worry about the view (but then my DH asked to stay in the CR tower). We were fortunate enough not to have any problems with housekeeping, our room, CMs, transportation, etc., on our last visit--I'm sure this will be the same!

EXACTLY what I would have said, well except you said it first! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the responses:goodvibes
I should have known better than to put the phrase, "Worth It?" into a sentence because what one might feel is worth it another would not.

Last October we stayed in the AKL with a savanna view room and bunk beds for the kids. Was it worth it, to me? No. The room didn't live up to all the hype, in my opinion. First off, we were greeted by a room FULL of lovebugs - dead ones, live ones, in the curtains, in the bed, in the everywhere. On the carpet pissed me off because they supposedly vacuum!

We complained but nothing was done. We always go down that time of year and this was the first time we were dealing with them in this way. I also didn't like opening and closing the patio doors. I like my accomodations humidity free, and we all know how efficient the air conditioning works at the resorts - so with the door opening and closing every time the giraffe appeared didn't make our room as cool as I like.
I also like my views to be tropical, the palms, the flowers, etc. The view was dirty and dusty.
AKL just wasn't for me. That's why, before forking over hundreds a night, I just wanted to hear others opinions. I'm still up in the air. I really just like the Florida experience - living up here in NY I appreciate all the greenery and beautiful colors that the Disney gardeners provide:love:
sorry for the rant:rolleyes1
but keep the opinions coming!

Oh, I just have to say I really like all your photos!
Normally the view doesn't mean anything, but for some reason, I'm really wanting a view this next visit.
I think that view of Space Mountain would make me happy, but if I don't get it, Oh Well :)

:thumbsup2 These look beautiful!
Here was our view from Conch Key Theme Park View room in July, posted these on other threads, but thought you would be interested. Is the view worth the price?...I think that is an individual choice. I am a "view" person. So, for our first stay at GF, we really liked it. The castle did appear to be closer than our Poly Lagoon View Concierge (Hawaii building from last year, which was awesome as well).
