Please tell me if the WL (my kids choice for our next visit) are OK.

From a previous post they had a room with closet doors falling off and scuff marks along the walls and bed posts.

Are the rooms is terrible shape ?

Is anything being done to fix-up the resort rooms ?

Thanks !

Our family has stayed at WL several times as well as at other Disney resorts. The rooms we stayed in at WL probably showed some wear and tear as all hotel rooms will over time. We never had one that was in bad shape or in need of repair. I don't believe the rooms at WL are in terrible shape. I often take reports like that with a grain of salt.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at WL. Our DD9 thought WL was better than AKL. I had read somewhere that it was on the refurb list, but I couldn't really tell that it was worn. The room was perfect on arrival and mousekeeping kept it clean (with a few towell animals to surprise us). I would recommend WL to any of my friends and family. :goodvibes

I think the poll needs something between "perfect" and "OK". I was just there on 10/31 and thought the room was great. However, I'm sure there was a scuff mark *somewhere* on a wall, so perfect may be a slight overstatement.

You have to be careful reading online room reports. The problems people have and complain about are real. For those people, it's a real shame. But you can't assume their problems are typical. Even if only a small number of people have problems, they are more likely to go online and complain than those that don't.

What I like to do is check a place like tripadvisor.com. They get a lot of reviews and rank them. The places with systematic problems, as opposed to the occasional hiccup start to stick out. For what it's worth, Wilderness Lodge is almost always their highest ranked Disney property, currently ranked #3/279 in the Orlando area. See http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...isney_s_Wilderness_Lodge-Orlando_Florida.html I wouldn't worry about it.

I would never hesitate to stay at the WL... it's one of my favorite resorts. :goodvibes Disney is usually right on top of any repairs that need to be made. If you ever get a room that isn't up to par just let them know. :)

I have stayed at the WL in 97, 98 and 2003 and will be there again in two weeks. My rooms have always been nearly perfect. Certainly better than okay. I have seen a couple of scuff marks and a touch of eepling wall paper in the bathroom but everything else was alwasy fine.

Yep, scuff marks and some peeling wallpaper were all I noted. It was fine.

Remember that the original poster was in another room initially but it had bunk beds and she didn't want them. She was first told there were no more rooms available and then given the room that had the problems.

This would lead me to believe that room was taken down from rotation but since the OP wanted to move it was either the room that needed help or the bunkbeds. This makes sense to me.

I've stayed in WL 2x now and am going back for a third time (Feb 4 - 11). I really don't think you should worry about the room. The hotel is wonderful. Make sure to eat at Artist Point, it's great!

We have stayed at the WL multiple times and have often had multiple rooms when family members have joined us.

All rooms have been in good shape. Few scuff marks/normal wear and tear.

The room in poor shape that has been recently posted on is IMO one of the least preferable rooms at the WL.

Your chances of getting this room are slim and if you do get this room I would suggest going straight back down to the front desk to get a different room.

How can you tell. Walk in the room. Try to open and close the closet door. Then walk to Balconey door curtain. If you look out and look directly into another room you may indeed have the same room that a recent poster stayed in.

Again, so many rooms at the WL. Most are in good shape.

This resort is so beautiful. We can't wait to go in less than two weeks.

We have stayed at WL several times, most recently 6/05. We have never had a problem with the condition of our room. When we were there in June, the first thing I noticed when we entered the room was how clean it looked and smelled. I was very impressed.:flower:

We stayed at WL in Jan 2005, our room showed normal wear and tear, but nothing was so bad that I thought about it more than a second. We're headed back to the lodge next December and I can't wait! :goodvibes

I don't know what you're expecting, from your post, but this is a great hotel, not a bombsite. I am fussy and the rooms here are fine - maybe a little on the small side, but certainly not dirty. But, if a little piece of peeling wallpaper or a scuff mark would spoil your stay, I would stay elsewhere, as I know WL is being refurbished next year - so it obviously needs it. When are you staying - if it is sometime next year maybe you will get a refurbished room anyway.
