Are the refillable mugs worth it?

It's really an individual decision. We don't drink any coffee or nearly enough soda to make them worthwhile, even if we were spending all day at the resort. We really only drink a single soda with meals.

If we did not get them with the dining plan I would never buy them. I have a large collection of these things sitting around my house. Now before they put in the soda police machines I did enjoy seeing some really old ones being used trip after trip. And with Disney nickel and diming everything its just a matter of time before they drop these from the meal plan.

We didn’t get the refillable mugs this visit but at least two coffees a day and two fizzy drinks between us at the resort added up to more than $18 each, so would consider getting them next time.

You’d have to take them back to your room before going into the parks and then retrieve them when you got back if you wanted a drink though.
On a day when we use them in the morning before a park we put them in a reusable shopping bag in a locker and pick them up on our way out. We also drive to the parks so we'll sometimes leave them in our car. This way we have them to fill up when we get back to the resort.

We always get one, but only because they’re “free” with the DDP.

Personally if I wasn’t on the DDP I definitely wouldn’t pay for one but that’s just because I don’t drink soda at all, and I reeeally hate coffee. If I had to pay having not been on the DDP I’d just run to Publix/Walmart and grab drinks from there for the trip duration tbh. It’s all very dependent on what and how often you drink when you’re in your resort.

Our last two trips we've gotten one as a family. We usually fill it with coffee twice in the morning (if someone is up early enough to make two runs, with our kids that's usually true), and then someone in our group will have a cold drink or two in the afternoon when we're at the pool. So we get 2-4 drinks per day in it, which means it pays for itself pretty fast (although if we didn't have it we probably wouldn't have the afternoon soda--none of us drink much soda at home).

I wouldn't buy them for everyone in our group, I don't think we would use them enough to make that worthwhile. And we've never done the dining plan.

ETA: I think it also depends on what resort you're at. We were at POFQ this trip and so every room is pretty close to the food court. If you're at one of the larger resorts and might have a longer walk, that's a factor too.

Not worth it for price of what you get unless you're drinking gallons of soda and coffee per day. We haven't gotten them the past couple of trips. But we do still have the mugs from years ago and my kids use them all of the time. They are asking if we can get them on our trip this summer and we are going to let them have them. They will definitely not get their money's worth in drinks because they usually just drink water. But it's a cute mug that they can use at home. And I'd rather spend $19 or $20 or whatever they cost now on a mug that will get used again, than a $20 trinket that will end up at the bottom of a pile of toys in the basement.

We don’t get them every trip. It depends on where we stay. When we are at Pop Century, we tend to get them because we have to go right near or past the drink station when going to and from the buses. They definitely paid for themselves on that trip. When we stay at Coronado Springs, many times we are no where near the drink stations so it isn’t worth it.
When we do get them, we just rinse them when we get to the park and hang them on a carabiner on our backpack (too small to put inside). This summer, we will have grand babies with us so we will probably just put them in a bag and put them in the stroller storage.

We get the dining plan so they are included, but I usually get a lot of use out of mine, especially when we stay at the Poly since there is a drink station at the Oasis Pool.

We get them only when using the dining plan. We don't typically have a lot of resort time when we're there, so it would be a waste for us to pay out of pocket for them. If you're planning a few resort days, you might get a decent amount of use out of them. My

We only get them because we do the DDP and they're free. It would be annoying to carry them around the park. It's annoying to, for instance, go to breakfast and drink from them, then walk back to the room to store them before leaving. We typically don't think to get them until our last day when we usually do breakfast at the hotel before leaving. But yeah. We never really use them at home either. So it's pretty much just a waste of plastic. MAYBE if you're room is near your hotel restaurant it would be good.
