are the prices going up for car rentals???

I have been checking prices for our trip in August. We are planning on going to disney/universal for 8 nights,going on a 3 night disney cruise,2-3 more nights at disney. When I check to see how much it will cost for 2 weeks, the price is over $500. I think this is very high. I have also checked to see about breaking it up and re renting after the cruise. That was it is $300 for 8 days. IS it me and I should just accept it that this is the price???? Last year we stayed for 2 weeks and paid less than $300 for the whole time.
I am trying to find the cheapest way around.

The prices for car rentals fluctuate a lot. I'm going Pres Week and my price started at about $230 for the week (I started checking back in Aug). About a month ago I got a price for $157 for an SUV. Now the prices are skyrocketing again. I would just keep checking and book with a price you can live with.
