Are the post offices open today?

No , no packages , just wanted to know if I would get mail today since I have to go a mile away from home to pick it up. I usually do that when I return from somewhere but it's out of my way so you saved me the trip. Thanks .

A bunch of city office type places are closed here-My dad's newest "retirement job" is being the head of some dept. that has town clerks or something, and they've had 2 days off this week-election day and Veteran's Day. He was frustrated with the situation.

The lights were on in the post office on our bottom floor - I can't imagine an overzealous employee going in on their day off!! Hmmm....

Ahhh, that explains why my direct deposit posted yesterday instead of today. I was soooo confused...but happy to have my money a day early.

Just because the PO is closed, doesn't mean no one is working today.

When I was a sub, veterans day was mandatory for the subs to work.

If you need to mail something, a lot of PO's now have those machines in the lobby that can be used. The lobbies are typically open so people with PO boxes can get their mail.
